I did a thing. Again.

2025 4runner 6th gen Traded in SR5 for ORP IMG_3065

Traded in the Black SR5 for a White ORP Hybrid. I should have gotten the ORP from the start, but it is what it is.

- Black to white: mainly a cleanliness thing, every little thing popped up on the black.

- Drivetrain: hybrid has more power + torque and better mileage than the gas only. Overall response felt smoother when comparing the two. Easily have another 30 miles per fill so far.

- Conveniences: power liftgate (underestimated the daily value of this with a baby), 360 cameras, heated / ventilated seats, sunroof and audio system

- OEM: Diff Locker, DAC and MTS, not gonna use them everyday but nice to have from factory and cost of labor upgrading was gonna add up

Altogether, got a good trade offer / payoff and much happier with the ORP long term.

Both are great trims, it’s after reevaluating my wants / needs that the ORP was better peace of mind for me and my family.

Now:

Feel free to ask specific questions between my experience running the two trims, happy to answer.

I was dead set on a SR5 when I went to purchase, BUT after driving both I ended up with an ORP Hybrid. Didn't get the premium as my wife liked the feel cloth seats better go figure. Also interested to see what the trade value was, helping my son buy an SR5 and the prices seem way high to me.

Yeah you're going to love the ventilated seats in the summer months. I do have a question on your wheels I see you changed them out to the pro Wheels, but I see white center caps? is that something new that I'm missing? Congratulations! thanks in advance

Good eye! Yeah, I opted for the Silver Toyota caps. Good thing it fits across Tundra, Land Cruiser and 4runners. Preferred these over the Red Circle and Red TRD.

In originally was looking at the OR...no P :). I ended up going with the ORP though...I was rather quickly convinced it was worthwhile. Bigger screen is really nice, especially with maps and all the cameras. As mentioned, the ventilated seats are wonderful during hot weather. For me the rear power hatch was not a biggie, but I have grown to like it--still would not be upset if it were not there--and with dogs it is sometimes nice to have the manual one so you can have more control over opening and closing it.

Mine also came with a sunroof. I would not have selected it, but it is nice. I kind of force myself to use it once in a while (I hate to have paid for it and never use it!). One thing I had not considered is that you do lose a bit of headroom (rather obvious, it just did not occur to me) which is not great. Not terrivle for me or my passengers, but my dogs get fur all over the bump...

The white looks great with the black TRD Pro wheels. Congrats on the new purchase!

Dealers think used 6g 4runners are worth more than gold. I've seen some used Pros listed for over $80k. Most of the cheaper used ones I've seen the dealer thinks the "P" on ORP stands for pro. I get that supply is limited but why would anyone pay over the new MSRP for a used vehicle?

maybe it was when they were first released, but inventory is swollen these days. dealerships want to pretend like it's still 2021 but it's far from it. you should be able to easily get invoice or lower pricing.

Well just keep shopping around, go through your online Fleet Sales people and call them near the end of the month; they'll be hungry to make a sale, they need to make quotas.

I'm not in a big hurry. It's still salt season around here so seeing one less is a good thing. Also I'm thinking of waiting to see what next years special color is. But if I came across a low mileage 6g 4runner for a price for a price I couldn't pass up I could be tempted so I keep browsing used ones. Plus, if something shows up close I would like to see a Pro in person to make sure it's what I want.

BTW congrats JGR on getting what you really wanted. Life's too short to make compromises.
