Do NOT get the maintenance coverage. Toyota already includes 2 years of maintenance for FREE. Atleast here in the US. You really aren't save any, if you decide to include it bundled in your financing. Your basically paying interested on maintenance. You are not require to buy the warranty from the dealer you bought the car from. Shop around as dealers markup their extended warranties by over 200%. They may charge $2500 but their cost is nearly $1k. The price can be negotiated; or find another dealer.First-time owner of 4Runner(still waiting for delivery of our Off-Road Premium) and i'm torn if i would buy the extended warranty or not. The dealer is offering 60/100,000 for $2644 Canadian. They said i'm covered for the next 5 years of maintenance, such as oil change and tire rotation. I'm thinking of getting it due to the newly redesigned, but my wife doesn't want it.![]()
unfortunately the canucks dont follow usa rules for warranty coverage. they dont get the ability to buy one 3/36 miles down the road.Do NOT get the maintenance coverage. I've heard similar before, but I'm curious if there's ways around it. i.e. I live in OR, but I just have to get mail at my relative's house in Cali? It's not based on proof of residence or registration?Note that unfortunately some states, like WA/OR/CA, don't allow the sale these products by any entity other than a dealer licensed in that state. So FD-Warranty can't sell to customers in that state, unless you have an out-of-state physical address at which you can actually receive mail.
Yes but that’s every 10k miles for an oil & filter change at my dealership. I only go 5-6k and that’s using synthetic. I’m not convinced going 10k is ok for an engine.First-time owner of 4Runner(still waiting for delivery of our Off-Road Premium) and i'm torn if i would buy the extended warranty or not. their maintenance plans aren't that much cheaper than if you were to pay for each visit. Plus it doesn't make any sense if your financing; your basically paying interest on your plan and after 60+ months you actually end up paying more with interest than you would if you were to pay for each service visit. Oil changes are not that difficult and you can save $100 by doing them yourselves.Yes but that’s every 10k miles for an oil & filter change at my dealership. just call fd-warranty (Greenfield Toyota) and ask, they have the best deals running.Read this entire thread yet, but I’ve been buying Mopar warranties for my jeeps for the last 20 years. Will someone please remind me can I buy a Toyota extended warranty as long as I’m still within the factory warranty, and what is the longest extended warranty available that is Toyota branded. I’ve always found that buying the Mopar warranties typically cover almost every single thing that the original factory warranty covers. In the world of Mopar, I could buy an eight year 125,000 mile warranty with zero deductible. Also, there is a dealer in the United States that sells the Mopar warranties for $50 over cost. Has anyone found a Toyota dealer that will do a similar deal?
