and before anyone reads that list above and wants to grumble about something in that list is not covered...know that a phone call to Toyota TMIS is what really decides. For example trim is not covered, and sun visor is considered trim. dealer would not fix my tacoma sun visor when it started to droop, 'cuz it's trim. called Toyota, asked about it, they said hang on a minute....ok yes we'll cover it because the hinge is failing. if anything else failed on the visor it wouldn't be covered.

you can always ask, you may not get the answer you wanted but it doesnt hurt to ask

(only exception to the rule, when you are a teenager trying to get past curfew, dad would chop off 30 mins each time i asked, until i wised up and stop asking)

This tread got me to review my extended warranty. I’ve purchased around 6 new vehicles over my life and never bought extended warranty. We were so excited to buy a 4Runner off the transport, I wasn’t as thorough as usual. The electrical warranty I mentioned above was the platinum. Ouch. So it does cover about all electrical. The only good thing is we got about 40% off for being a Costco member. So make sure you ask the finance guy about Costco discount. Now was he pulling my leg, who know?

Thanks for the responses, everyone. This was my first new vehicle purchase in over 22 years, so I wasn't sure how to approach the warranty question.

I took delivery Monday (see profile pic!), and decided to pass on the warranty and use my 3/36k to shop around.
