Tow hooks!

Just get the cool looking red tow hooks. Chances are 99% that I'll never use mine, but I bought them because the look cool. It's Black Friday. That's your excuse. It's very unlikely that someone will steal your tow hooks.

I'm also doing this just for looks. I've always stuck to functional mods, this is my one guilty pleasure... I've been pulled backwards out from trouble many times, but not yet from the front so who knows if I'll ever get to use these.

The ones already on the truck from the factory are also very good. Probably better than some of the aftermarket ones.

i personally like these types to pull or get pulled out. i keep this shackle and a snatch rope in case during winters.

Sorry all, since we are in this topic, on Amazon they are also selling these rear tow hooks for $99. This is the cheapest out there for this style rear tow hooks. Yota is selling these for $150+ and others up to $200+. Hehe…looks good.

hello all, just to update all I have installed the rear tow hooks for and it looks great. The quality of the product is good. The metal is thick and the looks are great. For $99 on Amazon, you will be saving about $50-$100 for the same, but rebadged.

Looks great! Did you have to drop the spare tire to remove the oem ?

did you use the original bolt or what came with it? Also did you use any of the spacers that came with the aftermarket hook?

Nope, I did not have to drop my spare. My ratchet fits fine. I only used one (1) spacer so that I can reuse the original bolt. The one supplied was not threaded all the way so i will have to put 3 spacers, it will sag down more and may hit/scrape when on a steep hill. One spacer fits fine and enough to hook or loop a soft shackle.

Received my new tow hooks today! No instructions included however, has anyone found the official torque spec for the bolts?

Got mine yesterday and done. Here you go.

Red Tow Hooks Install

Install OEM bolts and tighten down evenly.
Torque = 87Nm (64ft/lbs)
