Any of you have field tested any of the tow hook on Amazon? Looking at a steel Alloy hook to replace the stock. A lot of comments on the aluminum hooks which cannot compare to the steel alloy.

Thanks all I just ordered mine through my local dealership for $120. Reminder there is a 25% Off statewide sale Nov 24 to Dec 2nd. All genuine parts on sale including their TRD parts as well.

@shine , that's a great deal! Think I would consider at that price.

I went ahead and ordered. Close enough to your price!

That’s great all. Got mine about $5-$10 more in California.

Not sure how to ask this question,

I have not had to be towed or tow anyone out of a ditch.
So outside of these tow hooks looking pretty cool what's wrong with the factory hooks underneath that are already mounted to the frame and are rock solid.?

You can easily use a couple of soft shackles with a short toe belt coupled to one main tow rope if needed. So as to not damage your bumper, if you still have the plastic one like I do.

These look cool but someone would most likely steal them because they're pretty cool looking. Any thoughts.

I do love the red accent, but for me, I just had the factory recovery points (2 front, single right rear) removed, powder coated, and installed. Cost just under the price of aftermarket, and the red accent is more visible too since they are larger and have integral tie-downs. However, I see why off-roaders would want them replaced because of the lower-handing tie-down.

@TRD Pro or Die Trying just answered your question.

I am also ok with what came with the Runner.

But for less than $100, taxes and shipped free to me, I'm in!

Oh and also the cool factor!

happy modding!

Just get the cool looking red tow hooks. Chances are 99% that I'll never use mine, but I bought them because the look cool. It's Black Friday. That's your excuse. It's very unlikely that someone will steal your tow hooks.
