Saw another owner's 6th gen 4Runner fitted with @SXTH Element Air Intake Kit (prototype version still). Looking great.

Here's what the owner had to say about the intake, along with photos and a video sound clip:

They installed their new 2025+ 4Runner intake and it is INSANE! The noise of the turbo is absolutely nuts (last slide) and it also gives +14 whp & +14 torque!
(This is a prototype style for the 6G so the lid will not look like this)

Is a tune required for the hybrid motor?
No tuning needed! The only models that require tuning are the Pro/Trailhunter due to differences in the intake MAF scaling and P2C90 threshold.

Video in the thread doesnt seem to have sound at least not for me...... 2nd thing I went onto youtube and it seems like the people you "gave" maybe the intake all filmed with the mic under the hood!!???like share what its like inside the cabin I'm never under the hood and no one in the "reviews" talks about what its like inside... because honestly more power cool but I really want to hear the turbo.

3rd thing. Tell us more about the Intercooler?? Curious if running 87octane and adding intake/intercooler if that nets 30hp?

Power gains don't exactly stack like that, but the combined power and torque is north of 20 wheel horsepower. The biggest advantage to the intercooler is the stable intake air temperatures. The ECU in the 4Runner/Tacoma/LC is very dynamic and adjusts boost and ignition timing based on intake air temps, coolant temp, oil temp, ambient temp, inlet pressure, outlet pressure, and more.

When you push the truck in a hot climate or you are towing the turbo is going to generate a lot of heat. The intercoolers job is to cool this down, but once the core is "soaked", its efficiency drops. Our core dissipates heat faster, takes longer to soak and reduces overall pressure drop so your intake air temps are lower, the ECU will not dial back boost as rapidly, and your turbocharger lasts longer (less heat = longer life).

@SC4Runner I'm curious if there's any update after installing the intake. :)
I installed it, and I like it! I was hoping for some MPG gains, but that didn’t happen. There is noticeably better performance in my opinion. After this was seated for a few months, I got a OTT tune, so it’s really peppy now! I did lose about half a MPG with the tune.

You’re right that in a heavy vehicle, small horsepower gains are hard to feel. That’s why we emphasize airflow and sound.

Turbochargers work best with minimal restriction. By improving flow without reducing filtration, our system lets the turbo operate more efficiently, reducing strain and helping long-term durability. The added bonus is the enhanced turbo sound, which we consider the highlight of the upgrade.

I’m a happy owner of the SXTH CPLT intake on our’26 TRD Off Road Premium Hybrid. I never view intakes as a standalone mod because enablng more, colder air, is necessarily going to create more hotter exhaust needing both greater Intercooling(waiting for the SXTH larger unit, to mate up to my Banks Power Tubes, and my AWE exhaust.). We will do all that stuff at once, as soon as the exhaust and intercooler arrives. Not sure how far out the catch can is but I can vouch for how effective they are under higher boost, which our OTT tune definitely provides. I also have one on my ā€˜13 JK Rubicon with the RippMods S/C, with Water Methanol injection, and it requires frequent emptying. Will report when it’s all done
