🚙 Hey everyone! Just picked up my new 2026 Toyota 4Runner (Cutting Edge) and I’m thinking about upgrading the wheels!

I’m leaning toward bronze or black rims — something that looks great but can handle mild off-roading for BLM camping and easy SoCal routes.

Would love your top recommendations!
Please drop the brand, model, and size you’d suggest 👇

✨ Interested in:
• Good balance of style + strength
• Sizes that work well with the Cutting Edge color
• Options that don’t rub stock suspension on light trails

Thanks in advance! 🙌

I have the same color combo as you. And I had the same dilemma.

I don't think the bronze is a good match for silver main body. My 5th gen was silver as well and I went with the "grid" method Wheels they were a Satin charcoal type color.

Now I'm faced with this same choice, there are a couple of main factors you want to consider looking at prior to buying; and that's the wheel offset also the wheel
Widths.

But as far as color I think you can't go wrong with a satin black or charcoal. I'll probably go down the same path that I went with on my 5th gen only I'm not going to use method Wheels. Be careful because of the center Hub on these new 4Runners are smaller. I will probably just go with the pro wheels and be done with it Toyota has a pretty good sale on them right now .

Final note, I probably would not be changing wheels at all because I'm pretty happy with the look of these wheels, they kind of grown on me after a bit. The only reason I'm changing is because the width is not right for a bigger tire! Our wheels have a 7.5 inch width.

Hope all this helps.

Method 703’s are a fairly popular choice in 17 x 8.5” size. I think the reason a lot of people revert back to 17’s is there are more tire options in that size compared to 18’s. The 703’s have a +35mm offset, which on an 8.5” wide wheel results in the tire being pretty close to flush with the fender flares. If you want 1/2” of poke, then you want a 8.5” wheel with +25mm offset.

As far as tires go, LT285/75/17’s look and work well with the 4R without clobbering your gas mileage too much. Sure, 35’s are cool looking but if you go that route don’t be posting on the mpg threads complaining about your gas mileage… lol.
