Does anyone know where we can find comprehensive instructions for removing the dashboard? I have a rattle that the dealership is not being super helpful in finding, and I wanted to see how complicated and difficult it would be to get behind the dash myself.

I have zero help with drawings or instructions, but have you considered first fishing around with a horoscope to see if you can find the culprit? You can get some cheap. ones on Amazon that will connect to your smartphone, have illuminated ends by the camera, and even have some tips for them that can attach 90 degree mirrors or even pinchers for grabbing things. Maybe you can find a friend to loan you one?

I actually have a pretty good camera tool that I am going to use first. Not sure if it's the same kind of thing you are describing but my plan is to remove the infotainment screen and see what I can access from there. The next step after that is pulling the remaining dash trim panels.

I'd snake the defrost vents too if you can fit in the grid - seems like an easy spot for someone to drop a loose nut/bolt and maybe could be retrieved by a magnet.. I really hope you find it!

and the rattle may not be a loose item. it most likely is a panel rubbing against another causing the noise.

we had it in our 2016 tacoma (front right passenger speaker grille was rubbing the housing) and our 2018 tundra (back rear passenger top of the seat was rubbing the corner of the cab painted surface) and it only happened during summer, never winters for both issues
