Hi All, I recently picked up my 2026 ORP and am looking to upgrade the tires on my stock trd rims (the black upgrade ones).

I was hoping to bump up the size slightly to a 275/70r18, but finding very few SL/C/D load tires in sizes bigger than stock. Does anyone have any recommendations? It looks like Goodyear Wrangler Territory, General Grabber and Nitto Terra Grappler are kind of the only choices… thanks!

Yup I wanted to go up to 285 on the stock 18s but I think I found one tire with C load. So decided to get some rrws in 17” and basically future proof it. Cuz if I didn’t like it I didn’t wanna be stuck with those tires for I dunno how many miles.

General Tire Grabber aTx come in C rating for 275/70/18. In addition, they will rub on your front mud guards unless you install the oem mud guards from a TRD Pro or Trailhunter. These are only 1' wider but have a flush fit against wheel well.

Thanks to Post 3, I didn't even realize there was a separate forum section which specifically for tires:
https://www.4runner6g.com/forum/forums/tires-wheels-brakes.9/

I'm seldom totally satisfied with whicher brand/model of tires I end up buying.

Right now, I'm fairly, if not very, happy with the OEM Toyo tires in 265/70x18 tires which came on my '25 Trailhunter. Apparently, they're 39 pounds each and give me the traction I've needed, so far, both on the road, and any light off-roading I've done over the year I've owned this 4Runner. They're 3PMSF rated and at the stock sizing, so no modifications or worries in changing anything for clearance issues as going up in size might entail.

On my '17 Tacoma Off-Road, I currently have gone back to a stock Goodyear Wrangler w/kevlar. What I'd do differently would be to get a 3PMSF rated tire just for my own peace-of-mind when driving in snow for that possible shorter stopping difference as needed.

Even though I've not deviated from the stock sizing with two of my Tacoma trucks, I am on my 3rd set of tires. Previously, I went with Goodyear Duratrac tires, but wasn't happy with the extra weight and harsher ride with these E load range tires. These tires were 3PMSF rated though. I didn't like the mpg-hit from these heavier tires.

For me, I'd want the lightest tire and 3PMSF rated, but still with some type of AT or M&S type tread. There are many brands and models which I might be completely happy with but other folks, possibly the OP, may have other reasons for deviating from an OEM tire version/type.

Ground clearance; puncture/tear resistance; looks; traction on freeways/snow/rocks/sand/dirt/mud; weight/mpg, will vary for any given owner and compromises may need to be made, e.g., mpg vs puncture resistance (lighter vs heavier tire).

I almost wish tires would wear out faster as I typically get tired of looking at the same tires so long.:)

from what i remember most people dont usually deal with "D" rated tires. most either go "C" or "E"

you can get the defender ltx ms2 in XL load ( have these on my 25 4R Platinum)

Code:
Load Ranges Abbreviated Maximum Load Pressure
Light Load LL 35 psi (240 kPa)*
Standard Load Nothing or SL 35 psi (240 kPa)*
Extra Load XL 41 psi (280 kPa)*

Load Range Ply Rating Maximum Load Pressure Maximum Load Pressure
                        ≤ 295mm / 11.5" wide > 295mm / 11.5" wide

B 4 35 psi (240 kPa)***
C 6 50 psi (350 kPa)*** 35 psi (240 kPa)***
D 8 65 psi (450 kPa)*** 50 psi (350 kPa)***
E 10 80 psi (550 kPa)*** 65 psi (450 kPa)***
F 12 95 psi (650 kPa)*** 80 psi (550 kPa)***

Load Range Ply Rating Maximum Load Pressure
B 4 35 psi (240 kPa)
C 6 50 psi (350 kPa)
D 8 65 psi (450 kPa)
E 10 80 psi (550 kPa)

Yup, my 275/70/18 Falken Wildpeaks AT4W rubs on stock mud flaps. Installed Pro flaps which is wider & slimmer = no rub!
