Random HVAC changes

Anyone else noticed that the heating/ac system randomly will change itself when you turn the 4Runner back on? Sometimes mine puts itself into 'only front/eco mode' (which I never use), others it will not show the A/C is on on the dash (but it apparently is), and so on?

Someone yesterday said the manual mentions that the AC is always on if the temp is above 75F, even if the light isn’t on.

You are correct when you say random. It drives me crazy the settings do not stay how I set them. I'm sure Toyota engineers thought they were doing a good job designing and optimizing the heating/cooling system but please, listen to your customers. I want full manual control and I want the to settings to stick. I don't use auto mode at all.

are you leaving it in AUTO mode? that mode is diabolical in how it determines what you need.

Nope, all manual. But the settings keep changing themselves when I start it back up.
