Questions about OEM LED liftgate lights

Hello!
Does anyone have any better pictures of what the LED liftgate lights (NOT the optional D-pillar cargo lights) on the hatch look like? I can’t find any close-up pictures, part numbers, or really any info on if they could be added after the fact.

Bottom line: lots of us would like those liftgate lights and so far no part number evident (apparently standard on TH and optional on PRO (?) but not clearly available to any other trim). Photo of the lights available in that thread (but not close-up.) And photo of my workaround solution also in there. In my opinion the cargo lights are definitely worth it and easy to install but I still want the tailgate lights....

I wish I had gotten them on my limited along with the tow-tech package. If at some point you could take a picture of them I’d appreciate it.

So that is three trims that they apparently can be installed on. Can you tell from the sticker if its factory or port installed option (PIO)? if the latter that increases the chances that its something the rest of us could install after the fact.... if anyone can figure out the part number:>)

Looking at the 2026 build options for 4Runners I’d say the liftgate lights are only available on trims with power liftgates. Some trims with power liftgates don’t have the option but that may just be a decision by Toyota rather than a technical or hardware limitation.

Just wanted to update this thread with a new product. There is now an integrated hatch light option that is plug and play. It replaces the plastic hatch lock cover and is powered by the door opening and closing button lighting. You can order it from cartrimhome or an Amazon duplicate. Watch the cartrimhome video on youtube for the RAV4 light install as they don’t have a 4Runner install video yet, it’s the same procedure. The light is more blue than the stock interior lights but is very bright and actually turns on and off during the opening and closing cycle so no worries about it staying on and draining your battery. Mine also turns on and off with a touch as needed.
