Crap. Didn’t realize that. I will be looking for a platinum this fall. Looks like it’s going to take awhile.
The spreadsheet on here is great for tracking but I've found that the accuracy of the "pre-sold" column is not accurate at all, mainly cause dealers and taking deposits and not marking it off on their site as sold, so it still shows in the system available. There are a couple in other colors that are available on lots but not many.

Most dealers will reserve them for a $500-$1000 refundable deposit, and if you are working with a good dealer they should be able to allow you to add/remove port installed options.

Given that the change over to 2026 model year should be coming soon, I'll likely wait for a 26 allocation unless one pops up semi local with a spec I want.

the only FIO i want is the powered auto boards

everything else is PIO so it shouldnt be a issue getting the following ...

all weather floor liners
mud guards
paint protection film
front lighted emblem dark chrome
rear cargo lamps (d pillar)
extra 2 or 3 yrs of remote connect (this can be skpped since its at cost charge, $15 x 24 or 36 months)

debating adding the high perf fog lights (yellow or white, leaning yellow) but these are $635 over the standard white fog lights that already come on the platinum. not like i really need the upgraded fog lights since at my age i avoid night driving as much as i can.

edit : just found out, the hi-perf fog lights are not PIO options on the platinum, so they become DIO so the $635 cost is just the parts, not including install cost, so that solves that issue, not paying for the dealer install costs of that.

so the msrp is going to be roughly $67,300 and invoice just under $61,000

I could be wrong, but I think a lot of dealers take deposits and do not mark if off on their site as sold just to draw interest and bring in calls/people. "Oh, well Mr. Johnson that Platinum is actually sold, but I'd love to show you this Limited we have on our lot." That kind of thing. I have a deposit down and have 'bought' a TRD Pro. It's supposed to be at the dealer on September 2nd, but it is still listed on the dealer website. It does say 'Sale Pending', but it is still on the website.

You are 100% right, I'm getting so many emails from dealers that I contacted telling me they have a limited coming it I may want to come check out after I tell them only interested in a black platinum lol.

When you're spending this much coin, hold out and get exactly what you want!

What color are you wanting?
heritage blue (only becuase of the wife, the wife abhors silver to the point that she hates driving my current silver 4R)

otherwise i prefer cutting edge (silver) cause it hides dirt the best between car washes

The late rollout of the 2025 4Runner does come with the possibility that this year's production numbers on certain trims become abnormally low. This can have a positive effect on value down the road if the vehicle maintains its quality reputation going forward. This is especially true in a first-year production hybrid first-year new Gen.

I deplore the dealer mark-ups as they already make several thousand dollars on the new vehicle. However, if the production numbers are substantially less than future runs, the mark-up may be worth considering. If a dealer asks for 5K, maybe they will consider 2.5K, as it is getting late into the model year. (Although it is only the beginning of the second week in August)

It is equally valid that most motor companies get their next year's vehicles out before Toyota. 4Runners are notorious for making their appearance in January of the new year. The same collectable value increase also applies to the gas-only lower produced trims, making them more of a value buy. All of this is based on the speculation that Toyota misses the desired production numbers because of the delayed rollout. The proverbial "silver lining".

Nearly in my backyard! But my wife has a white one now and wants black. Maybe I can convince her on this white one. We’ve been waiting for 7 months
It’s most I’ve seen off on a platinum so far.

Go have her test drive it, and she will want to take it home.
