Odd rattle on driver's side - can't tell where it's from.

I finally found the source of my rattle- it’s the hood prop… when it’s secured under the hood, the free end doesn’t move, but the pivoting end rattles a ton within its socket. I used a ranger band to tie it up and it’s gone! Feel like there are a TON of different rattling noises in these trucks, unfortunately the solution does not appear to be one size fits all

Never heard my hood prop rattle. But after installing hood struts, I also noticed the prop end was not snug in the holder. I firmed it up by wedging the end of a plastic tie wrap into the gap.

Good news. I think I found the root-cause of the issue. It's the 'plastic/foam' acoustic shield that sits on top of the firewall.

I was tapping around everywhere in the engine bay and the rattle was awful when I hit it. Looked close and many washer nuts missing (I at least found 3 but there might be even more). Either Toyota forgot to put them on or they fall out over time.

I then moved some washers around to see if it can make the noise go away and then took it for a test drive. Rattle was gone!

To make it permanent I need to find either the plastic or metal washer nuts from Toyota or something from the Home Depot. The plastic one are crap imho since they come loose over time.

My question (see my pictures below), does someone know the stud size/pitch/thread so I can find a fitting replacement? The foam shield appears to use a mix out of these white and black studs which might have different sizes.

Hope this helps someone else as well.

Is there a plastic clip or washer nut which should go on top of the yellow base? Because there is nothing on mine either.
