Moonroof rattle!

Anyone else have a moonroof rattle when open and going over bumps? It’s so annoying now that the weather has changed and I’m using it more.

There’s no leaking or anything so I’m almost worried for someone to mess with it and cause an “issue”. I also have no idea how to troubleshoot this. I’ve done various things like holding down the shade and like pressing on diff areas as I can while driving but unable to stop the noise.

debating bringing it in now vs holding out for the 5000 mile service - I’m just under 2k on the odometer.

Moonroofs unfortunately rattle and leak afterwards. The reason I got mine without one. My other cars all have moonroofs and I don't remember when was the last time using one...

just started noticing this in my TRD PRO. It started after I installed a full roof rack but I’m confident it’s the sunroof track rattling. Ever figure out a fix?

Yes, my sunroof frame was replaced due to a rattle when the sunroof is open. It took about a week to repair and they had to drop the headliner. This was about 4mo ago.

I dropped it back off today as it's rattling again.

I think it’s the quality of aluminum they’re using for different brackets on the vehicle. The window on the drivers side had issues because of where the aluminum contacts and I believe this also has to do with the aluminum tracks being used for the sun roof. Either they’re not heavy enough to maintain structure or there’s something about them that’s cause them to rattle whenever I go over a jarring bump in the road.

would be interested in seeing how they drop the headliner.. considering wedging some type of foam or towel in between the headliner and the bracket but want to know what’s causing it for sure before I just try random stuff.
Can you have them take a picture of the sunroof track if they drop the headliner again?

Mine just started rattling when it got colder out. Pulling the moonroof sliding cover forward about an inch helps greatly with reducing the rattle though.

Nope.
It wasn’t leaking. It worked fine otherwise. I just turned the music up.
