Have a new 2025 TRD sport premium. Underground color. Any thought on using the Meguiers Quick wax after a really good wash? Also do the new 4Runners have a ceramic coating in the paint already or should I consider getting one. Any thoughts or opinions are welcome. This is garage kept and a low mileage vehicle, we’ve owned since July and only at 2000. Maybe 10,000 a yr average. Not a daily driver. Thanks

I’ve been using quick wax for years. You can easily apply with microfiber towels. Then lightly (barely) and quickly do a fast wipe down. It will last a few drive thru car washes. I usually put it on especially in the front for a long road trip.
I always put a coat on the headlights to keep them looking like new.

tip- dish soap DESTROYS headlights. Always use a specific car wash soap

I've been doing rinse-less wash with ONR and sponge, drying and then finishing with this "Ceramic 3-in-1 Detailer" and microfibers towels. Great results.

My two cents,
McGuire's quick wax and ultimate quick detailer interior and exterior.

Paint is always smooth and slick.

One dealership tried to sell me a $2,000 ceramic coating for a $20 bottle of ceramic coating.

Yes there are very specific techniques to do proper ceramic Coatings which can go up into the high dollar. But dealerships take a $20 bottle and spray it on your car and you wouldn't feel the difference between a McGuire $7 bottle or a $20 ceramic.

One of the biggest upsell rips going on in dealership car sale markups! Sorry I digress!

I love the maguires quick wax. It can go atop anything. It doesn’t add much protection but gives awesome gloss for a few days.
Great. Thanks. How do you feel about the quick Detailer? I’ve always just washed and waxed old school but my last new vehicle was a 2010 so trying to keep up with the times. Thanks

I initially fall into the old school method as well in the beginning. Meaning I will give my new car a couple of deep carnauba waxes by hand. Then I will use the quick wax for the next 6 months sometimes even a year. Then I will give it another clean with a good hand applied wax.
I have tried the clay bar prior to waxing and that really treats the paint well by removing particulates.

I suppose if you have the time and like doing that sort of thing then it's cathartic. I'm not a fanatic about it but I do enjoy it when I feel the time is right.

Oh, I do like the quick detailer and have a few bottles of that for interior and exterior and it smells good.

Thanks Mike. I’ll definitely try the quick wax and look into the ceramic in a bottle coating also. Thanks.

I’ve only used quick wax because it takes the least amount of time. I’ve done the clay bar and all of that biznash. Got tired of wasting my precious time off work——working! In fact in our house ALL chores are done Thursday night. We don’t do anything friday-Sunday. Maybe the quick wipe down of the dinner table. Years of the parents bitching and complaining about just doing laundry all weekend. I decided nope not going to be like them lol.

I guess everyone has a favorite…Wife has the 4Runner ORP and I maintain itā€¦šŸ˜‰. I am a fan of Griots products and the ORP wasn’t in the garage 48 hrs before I washed it with Griots Ceramic Wash and Coat and the next day applied the Griots 3-in-1 wax and after letting it cure 24 hours, the water beading capabilities are just plain crazy!!!

Yep I agree weekends and time with family and friends are pretty valuable to me as well. Being retired now, I can go to the local coin-op car wash then just drive home into the garage and give it a spritzing with spray wax and it looks like I went to a professional car wash pretty much done in 30 minutes. I like my free time now so I can read these forums!
