The spare seems to be in an awkward location for trail driving. I have drug it twice now exiting creeks. Has anyone moved it to a back bumper location? Worried about camera and sensor relocation as well since it is the TRD Pro version.

Ive seen a few move it to the back bumper. So it can be done, however there's many tradeoffs to be made.

Blocking camera, overhang, higher cg. Possibly worse departure angle. Relocate the rear plate. Longer vehicle for parking, swing out gets annoying opening the rear. Aesthetically ugly and much more cluttered looking, I like a clean look.

I personally do not see the benefit and will take the occasional rubbing. It makes most sense if you go really large tires and cannot make it fit under there, even then I'd not want to but thats me.

Your best bet is to have someone follow you with a spare tire

Just my two cents and it can just be a temporary carry. A simple roof basket can hold a tire and recovery equipment.

And where my thoughts go is the roof basket can also be a temporary, so you don't have to have a full-time heavy roof rack 24/7.

Once I get my 35’ spare. It’s gonna live in the back of my trunk. I don’t want get a swing out cause it’s looks ugly in my opinion
