It's in the back, and there's space for the equipment in a cubby in front of the hybrid battery. Wiring will probably be the easiest I've ever done lol

No idea what size the 12v battery is though.

I’m looking at that cubby in front of the battery… Already cut a piece of ABS for a rack… it’s 9-inches wide by 42.5 inches long, and maybe 4 or 5 inches high. Those AudioControl Epic Series amps are only less than 7 inches wide, by around 10 or 11 inches long. They’d fit well.

I may just use the Kicker Key 500.1 on a sub and call it a day. I'd rather not pay for a whole ass DSP for a small system.

Seems the Trailhunter and PRO may have a starting battery up front under the hood, drivers side. Any able to confirm?

Yes AI is often wrong, especially on a newer model when there are 9 variants to the 4Runner there could be nuances. I thought having it underhood could be possible because of the alternator being close by, so an up front location would be sensible.

Since the alternator is an optional item on the ORP, I wonder if there is a factory kit with all the parts/harnesses etc?

There are a couple of threads about it (adding Aux switches/alt), but no resolution if memory serves. I've looked at the wiring harnesses in the service manuals, and there's an entire section that's NOT present if you don't have the Aux switches and alternator. I may be thinking of the harness that powered the factory light bar though...That's what I was sussing out the wiring on (I bought a Trailhunter light bar and tore it apart to make it work without the factory wiring LOL).

I thought the alternator was added if the auxiliary switches were added. I shopped for the ORP and I don't remember seeing "add alternator" option, but I know they change options throughout the production year.

Yeah, the ONLY way to have an alternator on the hybrids is to have the aux switches. Standard on Pro/Trailhunter and optional on ORP. Pretty sure that's for 25 and 26. And thanks to Toyota's US distribution system, completely unavailable as an option in entire regions. Like Gulf States Toyota doesn't (or didn't, haven't checked recently) have ANY ORPs with the Aux Switches. I specifically bought outside of GST (where I live) for this exact reason. I wanted an alternator.

Yes, I wanted an ORP with options, but the standard Trailhunter ended up being the easier get and had what I wanted.
