When I initially got my 4Runner TRD Sport premium I expected a lot better sound quality from the JBL sound system. However I was disappointed with the amount of rattles coming from the doors and an overall lack of bass.
I decided to just take it into Independence Audio and Video to have sound dampening done to all four doors and have a sub installed. They did a great job - not only is there more bass now, but the sound deadening fixed the rattles and made the road noise so much quieter. I highly recommend getting sound treatment done!
I also had a sub knob installed into one of the blank switches. Overall super happy with the install and recommend using Independence Audio and Video if you are somewhat nearby.
Updated with price:
The sound deaending was around $100 per door including labor. The install for the sub was $350. The most expensive part was the sub itself.
