Got 28mpg on the highway on my non-hybrid so probably a little less for the hybrid (due to weight). My mixed 30/70 (city/hwy) was a little over 24mpg. Hand calculated

Sweet! good to hear! Those numbers are impressive for a 4Runner. Yes we all wish they were better, who doesn't? We just have to remember these trucks are built extremely beefy = Heavy....

Second week on the Trailhunter : On my 3rd tank currently. 756 miles driven with regular commutes (50 H- 50 C) and a 3 hour country road hilly drive. All 87 octane :
- 1st tank = 18.9 normal mode
- 2nd tank = 19.8 normal mode
- 3rd tank so far = 20.4 normal mode & eco now.
I did test sport mode this morning and it sure hangs up on the gears much longer.
I did feel the difference in shifting patterns on all drive modes.
Love driving this Thing!

If anyone bought the new hybrid and thought they were buying it for gas savings, then they didn't do enough research before spitting out 65K+

I absolutely bought my hybrid for gas savings. And so far its doing way better than my V8 Tundra on 37s ever did!

Cool, yeah Sport mode definitely works the RPMS nicely.

?? Well said!
For a vehicle NOT engineered for mpg savings, rather done to maintain roughness in the power and torque delivery plus weighing north of 5500 pounds, it achieves good efficiency.

Eco mode: City bumper to bumper/max 50mph 17-18mpg, highway 75mph 23-24mpg I got a little over 1k miles.

Would any hybrid owners care to share their Fuel Economy mpg's per the dash readout?

After my wife's first tank, ours is at 15.5. That tank of fuel included an out-of-town interstate trip as well as in town driving. I will add, there is a lift and tires that measure 34.3" and we live in western NC.

Mine is reading 17.8mpg, about 2k miles on the rig. I would say 1800 of those miles is highway driving, the other 200 miles is city driving. 87 octane.

There's a thread somewhere here you could reference for more data. But after 4000 miles I'm averaging around 21. Stock tires. 30% of that is highway at 70 mph. I don't have too heavy a foot but don't pamper it. I've seen up to 26 if there is more city - and that's round trip / not just down a hill or something. Worst I've seen is 17 doing 80mph in UT into a headwind and uphill for hours. Mine is an ORP. I generally put premium in. One tank was 87 just to see if there was a difference. I live at 2500' elevation.

yeah, most of my driving is highway. Before I got it, I thought about putting premium fuel in it, but I decided to just go with 87 since it's a Toyota and I don't want to pay premium fuel prices. I do wish my MPG was a bit closer to 20 at least, but I do tend to have a heavier foot
