I am curious if anyone has found constant power while the ignition is off on the hybrid under the hood or near the aux switches. I am looking to hook up the harbor freight rock lights that are 4.4w x2 to run off a switch So they can be turned on while ignition is off. The two small light on either side mounter to rack and would just provide some light to get tent setup and things like that when showing up at night (20-30min) I don’t really want to run a wire all the way from battery if I don’t have to such a small draw. Currently they are using of the aux switches but would be nice to not have keep car running to use them.

If you are using the auxiliary switch for power I THINK it will power with vehicle in ACC mode (engine not running).
Going to verify with my ditch lights tonight.

I know if I use Aux switch it is only with ignition. I was going to run a separate switch for them outside the 4 aux switches. I just ran it off aux for now to get them working.

Check this vid out Yota Xpedition just posted today. It’s pretty helpful.

Yep. I was wrong that switch would work on ACC. Now to look at that vid link....

I just installed a mouse repelling machine/trap to the driver side fuse box, on my 25 hybrid ORP, by hooking the ground up to a bolt on the frame, and for the positive end I found that fuse location for “aux 5” actually provided constant power with the vehicle off… aux 5 is technically the one aux switch thats always on, so there isnt a switch/button for it like the others (if you have the preaux wiring option)… so yeah toyota gave this one constant power seemingly

You can technically use the low powered pigtails, which power aux 3, 4 (the ones with switches/buttons) and this also would power aux 5 every single time you turn your car on… and i guess run a switch off that pigtail to get control of it like you want for when car is off? But yeah id probably just run the switch right to the aux 5 fuse location and not use pigtails. I cut a hole in my fuse box and just ran a wire out of it, honestly looks fine
