Has anyone who did the pro/trailhunter grille swap successfully re-calibrated the front camera after? I've seen a few mentions that dealers should be able to easily do it, but I don't trust my dealer/service department at all unfortunately, and I don't want to find out the hard way after installing this grille and moving my camera. Wish I could DIY with carista.

Anyone had this done yet?

Have you sourced a harness extension for the camera wiring or are you going to cut/splice?

Ahh. Gotcha. I misunderstood. Thought you already did this so was curious which route you went. I'm gathering all the little parts to do the swap on mine.

Following. I asked my dealer today about this and they said they wouldn't recalibrate it due to "safety concerns". May call a few other dealerships to see if they are more capable/willing.

here's a question... does it even need a "callibration" Hear me out, why I ask... as far as I am aware the only camera that is attached to TSS is the one up by the mirror. The front camera just shows what is directly infront and then software shows on the screen tire placement based on steering wheel input. I guess the 360 view maybe "off" but thats the worst I can figure.

I can confirm there is a difference in the view. I have not had mine calibrated and when pulling into parking spots you can see the distortion in the lines. Not the end of the world but obviously not the way it should be.

Yes, it is just the camera angle and 360 camera that gets altered.

Still not sure why my dealer said it is a safety concern by loading the trail hunter/pro camera profile though ....

Is there a DIY tip?
Yeah there are some how-tos online for the tacoma. Its one of those like "put it in park, then do XYZ to access the calibration settings" kinda things. You can do it yourself apparently

Crazy Idea.... I found 867B0-35030 and 867B0-35040 both say they are for the front... maybe its not software but an actual lens difference

Very interesting!! That's an expensive camera lens!!! I hope it's not the case and it can be a software load.

The TRD Premium camera and the Pro/TH camera have a different bracket to bolt to the grill. The camera itself I believe is the same but you need to swap brackets to mount it. Rave sells a 3d printed one to use on the Pro/TH grill so you don’t have to buy the whole new camera assembly just for the bracket.

Understood but since the camera moves up 18 inches it causes the 360 to be skewed.

I understand this but from what I understand the camera itself is the same, the bracket that comes with it is different, and that could explain the separate part numbers.

And for what it is worth, it is just a notch above noticeable. I pulled into a parking spot this morning and the only odd thing is the lines. I will grab a picture later today or whenever I make it back to pavement.

Here’s what someone told me about the Tacoma calibration:

Enter Accessory Mode
Close all doors and windows.
With your foot off the brake, double-tap the start/stop button.
The infotainment screen will boot.
Activate the Hidden Service Menu
Mute the audio (turn the volume all the way down).
Navigate: Settings → Display → Screen, then turn off the display.
Swipe left to right five times, then right to left five times.
Ignore any prompt like “Touch to turn screen on.”
If it doesn’t work, tap to re-enable the screen and repeat.
Upon success, you should see the Service Menu pop up.
Tacoma4G
Adjust Camera View
Go to Function Check → Camera Settings → View Adjustment.
If an option is greyed out, long-press it (~5 seconds) to activate.
Tap Next, and the bird’s-eye 360 view appears—here you can tweak the front camera alignment.
Tacoma4G
Save & Exit
After adjustments, select OK to save and then exit the Service Menu.
On your next ignition cycle, confirm the Service Mode prompt to finalize
