Hi everyone...reaching out here because my dealership and Toyota have been no help.

I purchased my 4Runner in Sept '25 and have put close to 4000+ mi on it thus far. Around the Nov. timeframe, I noticed I started smelling gasoline fumes after parking in my garage and closing the door. Now I'm smelling fuel while driving. When looking under the vehicle i cant seem to find any leaks. I've had the vehicle into the dealership twice in the last month and they cannot figure it out. I've escalated the issue to Toyota corporate but am getting no where. I'm worried my garage filling up with gasoline fumes may catch on fire or explode not to mention inhaling while driving cant be safe.

Has anyone else had this issue and can you share what corrected it?

I’ve been noticing the same in my ORP the last couple weeks, no idea where it’s coming from either.

Overfilling gas tank? I've noticed a gas spell inside the cabin when I "topped off" the tank, even without spilling gas.

No I don't ever top off... When the lever clicks I take it out. Especially after starting to smell fuel on a regular basis I make double sure I don't spill a drop.

Have you ticket it into the dealership and have they done anything about it?
Yes I've had it into the dealership twice and giving back twice with no issue found. I finally escalated to Toyota corporate 2 weeks ago and thus far have gotten nowhere.

#1 it's under 3/36 right ? get it resolved
#2 if you pump gas past first click, stop doing that and see
#3 high pressure fuel pump may be leaking
#4 evap system should be fine, or else it would throw a MIL

>>>>>locate that leak, get some fuel system UV dye, run it a while, crawl all over
that thing with a UV light and look for the leak. get the appropriate fluid
and appropriate UV light (365nm wavelength) or have dealer do this

Strange... I have not experienced that at all. I park inside a garage. I did notice a few times recently the "sweet" smell of coolant coming from the hot grill after parking. Only a few times and has not happened again...
Obviously you are having another issue here, because that is not normal.... My 3rd gen has an P0446 code and when it is hot it smells like gas. it is an EVAP pressure release sensor, etc....
But what I am getting at is that it shows and engine light, and if some EVAP, Charcoal canister, etc. was your issue I'm sure some code would come up...

Can you tell if the smell comes more from undercarriage or engine bay?

It's extremely hard to tell where the smell is coming from. After an hour sitting in the garage the entire garage fills up with fumes. If I take the vehicle outside and lift the hood you can't really figure out where the smell is coming from. Additionally I start did smelling it in the cab while driving probably about 2 months ago and it continues to get worse. The dealership said they did an EVAP pressure test and it came back with no issues. I'm out of total loss

Randomly I noticed a gas smell driving errands after work. Picked up my wife and she said she smelled gasoline. No leak or anything. Garage had a slight smell last night. When I left this morning it was gone and no problem driving in to work today. First I've experienced it but I am very curious now given the comments in here.
