Yeah that's what I get pretty regularly on flat highways. I have a 2 in level; fairly sedate and still running factory size tires. If I get a Tailwind it could easily go up on the mpg, I think the maximum I saw once was around 25.5. But that was only once! Must have been a phenomenon of having just the right conditions; meaning the best blend of fuel with a Tailwind:)

I have the gas model.

Nice. Here's mine from last October:

Off Road Premium iForce Max. Toyota cross bars with Thule Pulse 614 Medium 14 Cu Ft cargo box (only opens on passenger side). Left front grill goatee stock air flow dealy on for mileage. Total payload weight (inside and on cargo box) 715 pounds. Two 85 lb dogs in the cargo area. Drove in ECO mode the entire time.

Road trip only. Combo of two lane mountain and rural roads, interstates with 80 MPH limits, four lane divided and undivided.

Results: 2523.8 miles, 46:35 hours driving time. 21.6 MPG.

Mine are stock tires on 18. I am sure bigger and better all terrains will hurt mileage

My ORP are also stock TRD 18 wheels with Michelin stock all terrains. I did have a Thule 14 cu ft cargo box on the roof rack.

Again, here's my trip results: Results: 2523.8 miles, 46:35 hours driving time. 21.6 MPG.

Its always nice to see when the EPA average is exceeded. My overall average after ~8K on stock tires is around 21.5 MPGs. (see Hybrid Real-World MPGs) But I expect that to inch up a bit closer to 22 as the hybrid MPGs is much better when temps are higher and engine shuts down more. (Note that my average at ~7K miles with offroad tires (285/75R18 34.8" 67# vs 37# for stock tires) - including much of the winter is around 17.5 but specific conditions matter SO much. Some examples below prove that.

Last week medium-long trip on stock tires (note that I have all the steel skids and rock sliders mounted - 2 people, 2 pieces of luggage in cargo area):

3 days ago trip on stock tires. (loaded cargo area for this trip):

Last June shortish trip but not too short to be surprised at the MPGs (this is pure stock - pre-mods):

Medium-long trip on offroad tires yesterday with recovery tools and big spare tire in the cargo area - this calculates to 23.9 MPGs! (22.4*34.8/32.6). This is the most surprised I've ever been at a trip result - reflects about 30 miles on rural hardtop at 45ish mph and 50 miles on I-64 at 74 mph. I was and am stunned:

Same setup yesterday but 9 miles in LO4 on an onX 5 trail:

I rarely see highway trip MPGs better than the 24 EPA for my Hybrid but when it does happen I smile and sometimes snap a photo. But my point above is that the variation in conditions matters a lot. And temperature seems to matter the most for my hybrid. (FWIW I had been running with the air dam on with stock tires and off with off-road tires - but recently took it off permanently. Not sure it matters much - but too many other variables to be able to tell.)

the lift doesn't help mpg nor the side window mods, they all produce more drag, even the roof rails, looks great though so if your happy with it otherwise ENJOY IT !
