You can tell the dealer to use the tundra parts. The way these are ordered are as kits. So the dealer gets sent kits that contain the parts for the vehicle. The tundra tsb brake fix is the same exact parts except they donāt need to use the rotors.I've been waiting weeks for parts, at this point I'm hoping the delay is Toyota figuring things out finally and getting a proper fix in place.
I will ask them tomorrow. So the Tundra's get the rotors in their kits, but we don't?You can tell the dealer to use the tundra parts. The way these are ordered are as kits. Yup. So does the gx550 and the sequoia. But the land cruiser and 4Runner donāt. I suspect itās how they weed out the cheaper fixes. My thought is if your brakes arenāt squealing that bad then this will prolly fix it. Others will have to wait but itās cheaper for Toyota to change pads on as many as they can and hope it fixes is then it is to just throw rotors with pads. Whatever though I dunno just my opinionI will ask them tomorrow. So the Tundra's get the rotors in their kits, but we don't?
Tried that already, they weren't interested and told me I had to wait like a bunch of other 4Runner owners who were ahead of me.You can tell the dealer to use the tundra parts.
That sucks. So disappointing.Tried that already, they weren't interested and told me I had to wait like a bunch of other 4Runner owners who were ahead of me.
How many days has it been? I am in margate. After two times taking it to the dealership, the screeching sound is gone! It has rained a lot in Miami, but nothing!!. BTW, I posted the two receipts from the dealership with the work done
Looks like on your first visit, they didn't replace the front pads. Please see image from Carfax to see the dates

I think itās related to the environmentā¦. More humidity in the area more squeal. I dunno for sure. I do know it was horribly crappy bad for months and months and now from sept through now it happens but not so often maybe 3 times a week instead of 7. I can live with thatUpdate for me: I went to the dealership today and they didn't have the parts. They said they'd call me once they receive them. However, yesterday, I did do the standard brake bedding and this morning, I didn't get any screeching sounds at all backing up in reverse. Perhaps the brakes just needed to break-in correctly? We will see and I will keep you guys updated.
