Dust issues in cab.

I bought the wife a new 2025 4runner, limited. Our house is on 1/2 of gravel road, and on this short drive up-and-down our gravel road the inside of the cap gets dusty... with all the windows up! a lot of dust comes in the back liftgate but also around the front doors. Anybody else having this issue? And if so, what was your course of action to correct it?

I have noticed this as well. Access to my fish camp is a mile of dirt trails and the dust accumulation is substantial. Just thought it was a 4runner thing.

I hope not.. I figured a $60000 luxury, SUV would be a little more sealed than this.

And the water that tracks up to the seals leaves a nice residue when it dries. I thought it would be more tight as well.

It's just as bad as my 3rd gen is. Subaru is a bit better. Might be a Toyota truck thing. $40k - $70k across the board.... Might need to go Lexus for better seal?
At least those seals will last 25-30 + years if they kept the same manufacturing process.

We've had half a dozen subarus, including a new 2024 Outback wilderness edition, 2020 ascent, 2022 crosstrek, all of which sealed considerably better, we never got any dust in our Outback. This is our first toyota.....and it's disappointing as far as the dust goes. Everything else we are happy with.
I will be taking it in to the dealership for them to address the issue. I refused to believe that this much dust is normal for any new car. I will update this Post when I get it back from the dealership.

I live a half mile down a dirt road. I never had major dust issues in my F-250. With this new 4Runner the inside is always Dusty. I was actually going out today to buy a couple microfiber cloth to keep in the vehicle.

Maybe trying the recirculate air button would help. I did notice dust when I rode with the windows open, but not much otherwise.

I've been doing quite a bit of off-roading in mine this summer and the dust accumulation in the cabin is ridiculous. Windows up, no excuse for it to be as bad as it is.

might want to do fresh air intake instead of re-circ

remember there is a flap in the rear quarter panel that has to equalize pressure when you close a door.

it may be flapping open at times driving down a bumpy dirt road

having the hvac system in fresh air mode will keep a positive pressure in the cabin, re-circ will have a negative pressure and pull in dust faster.

It’s just as bad as my ‘22 Tacoma was, even with recirc on. I also hoped this was better in the 6th gens, but oh well.

I often have to dust the car off on the days immediately following a thorough wash and conditioning.

Any update? I have noticed the same. It makes cleaning the car a pain

Excessive dust in the interior is definitely a Toyota quality issue. Toyota needs to design their car interiors to comply with ISO 14644 standards. (joking)
