Got my @Diode Dynamics hitch light today and it sticks out of hitch. That makes it so that the light adapter doesn’t fully sit inside and it doesn’t compress the clips on the side. And so the light can easily be pulled out. I just want to secure it so no one can pull it out easily. Btw I do have a locking pin that does hold the adapter in place but not the actual light. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Seats well on my other 2022 T4R. Maybe reach out to DD support. Probably not designed for these year model. Just a thought

It does say on their website that it works for the 2025 2026 4runners. Im assuming they didn’t test the bracket properly and assumed it would work perfectly

I have it installed on a ‘25 and works fine. Not sure I am tracking the issue in your post. Can you explain more?

the instructions tell you to snap off the tabs on the original housing if using a locking pin. you shouldnt need to use the adapter unless you are using a 2.5in receiver

the oem hitch is only a 2in size.

but if even using the adapter, if the lock pin is going thru the adapter and the original housing, it shouldnt pull out.

i just went outside and tugged pretty hard on mine and even tried to push the clips that are exposed on the sides/top that are sticking out. the lockpin is holding it in place and it didnt even budge.

Compare your install against this install video where it looks completely flush.

https://www.4runner6g.com/forum/thr...chmount-reverse-4th-brake-light-install.3172/

Hopefully that helps.
if you use the oem holes for the lockpin it will stick out. in that link he is not using anything to hold the housing in place, they just pushed the light all the way in manually to get it flushed for the pics.

if you look at diode dynamics install video, they show it sticking out on a prado and a 2025 4runner.

Hey JR. Just wanted to see how you like yours? I have been thinking about getting one, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Thanks in advance!
