Anyone have a cold air intake on a non-hybrid? Does it make a difference and if so which one?

i did the sxth element intake on my non hybrid limited. it feels a little more responsive.. but its not going to be a situation where it completely changes how the engine runs

@Hobb3s How do you like the intake? I’m considering it. Mostly for the sound. Ha!

Seems like this thing almost has a cold air intake factory installed. I’ve had them before, both K and N and AFE. It doesn’t seem like changing the air intake would make much of a difference.

I have heard many say there isn’t a notable performance upgrade. People do it for the turbo sound. Personally I wouldn’t do it.

I could tell a big difference as 14hp is a noticeable gain, but maybe that’s just me. You will really feel the difference after a tune! I could tell the slightest differences following performance enhancements in my other vehicles just as well.

People were installing Banks Tacoma CAIs on 4Runners late last fall. Supposedly the trim over the radiator support didn't align properly, but otherwise all was good. Can't see that they offer a 4Runner specific product as of yet. If you look at their design and intake for the Tacoma, it should definitely offer a true increase in intake airflow over everything else on the internet. Anyone here that's added their Tacoma intake care to chime in?
