**Don’t worry - the air-dam has been removed since taking this photo** ;)

Traded in my beloved 2-door Bronco for the 4Runner and cried handing over the keys. No shame - I really loved that car.

But she wasn’t the most practical daily driver - bit noisy, two doors, storage was very limited, rooftop weight limits were low, towing maxing out at 3500, etc. But the 4R ORP checked every box: great off-road capability plus a comfortable everyday ride. No wonder there’s such a massive community around these.

Honestly the hardest part of letting go wasn’t even the truck itself. It was feeling like I was leaving behind a community I really loved. So here I am, making my entrance. Excited to be part of this one.

Can’t wait for all the off-road adventures and even just the daily drives with this thing. It’s so tempting to immediately sink a ton of money into upgrades - but first, I’m taking her out to get dirty and test the limits as is.

If you made it this far - anyone know the best way to snag the OEM headlights from the Trailhunter/TRD Pro?

i hope you will not be sorry getting rid of that bronco I have both 2021 bronco four-door black diamond and I just purchased a 26 4 runner . In my opinion the bronco out performs the 4 runner 100% in every category ride quality performance definitely off-road cred but I’m still keeping the forerunner. It’s my wife’s truck.

I was going back and forth between the 4Runner and Bronco...it was close. As you decided, though, I decided the 4R was the better daily driver. I expect the B to be better off-road, but not really where I want to go. Also the horrific fuel mileage on the B really put me off. I think you will enjoy this vehicle though, I definitely do mine.

Im loving my 4Runner more and more everyday! The true “I’m in love test” is that any time I walk away after parking I look back and give her a nod. IF there is anything I regret… it’s not going for the Everest color simply because I didn’t want to wait another few months. But the underground gray is pretty badass too.

Hope you’re enjoying your 4Runner!

I get what your saying. I got rid of my Badlands. I've kept it longer than any other vehicle I owned. I liked the boxy shape, styling, interior, v6 torque, and it's offroad capability. With so many likes, why would I get rid of it? Mostly because of the wind noise, frameless door rattle, direct injection engine, and lastly I just don't trust the long term reliability of that wet oil pump belt. Plus my engine was built during the time some of the 2.7L were having issues with bad valves. I wasn't completely sold on a 4Runner but the numbers worked out. The main things I didn't like about the 4Runner was the 4cyl engine sounds terrible and could use a bit more power. The interior could benefit with more soft touch material. Or a Premium trim the only soft touch you get is the center control lid and arm rest on the door. That's it! The rest is a sea of black boring plastic. It could have benefited from more color. The ride is also so stiff and bone jaring; you feel ever little bump. It being a ORP, it has no dual zone climate control and still uses halogen turn signal bulbs. It also would have been nice if it was equipped with a optional from sway bar disconnect and a front locker. I still miss my Bronco. The 4Runner will never be as capable as my Bronco, but the interior is definitely quieter with a better stereo system.

Agreed. My husband has a wrangler so I’ve had a taste of the Jeep and Bronco - and now I with the 4Runner - all have their pros cons! I’m just happy to have a more comfortable daily driver for now 🙏🏼

I am shocked there’s no dual zone climate control! Husband and I are sometimes battling back and forth now on the “right” temp.

I wish the Land Cruiser 1958 was more capable, less expensive, and comparable to the 4Runner options. I would’ve gone with it in a heart beat if it hadn’t been missing so many bells and whistles for the price point. It would’ve been a more natural transition in looks from the Bronco.

As far as headlights go Buying the limited headlights they offer same LED but without TH/TRD Pro lighted insignia

if you want the TRD Pro/TH headlights as stated above they are insignia specific for those 2 trims and have amber running lights

if you dont care about the amber running lights (white on platinum/limited), its better to go with the limited headlights as the insignia only says "4RUNNER" vs the TRD Pro having passenger side "TRD" and driver side "PRO" and the TH has the TH icon on passenger side and "TRAILHUNTER" on the driver side
