What is this used for? There are already numerous USB-C plugs (4), and two traditional outlets that provide the 2400W capacity. And, doesn't the menu have a charge option to tell you voltage, etc. ? Looks cool as all get out, but what is the primary reason for this?

Just a compact handheld jigsaw. I drilled a hole to start the first corner and then cut out the rest from there based on the included template.

You have inspired me. I am working on a dual battery setup in the rear, and my DC-DC charger (REDARC BCDC1225D) coming from my 5th Gen already is wired for a plug like this one.

I also removed the storage tray that is above the panel, which gave me top-down access to this area as well...

I like this mod, will probably do something similar.

Question: how did you remove the storage tray? Just yank it out?

Gently used a plastic pry tool to release the retaining clips.
