I’m really bad with understanding car electrical systems, so excuse the dumb question, but why connect directly to the 12v battery as opposed to the hybrid system? Maybe a better question for my understanding to, but if you have the pre wired auxiliary switches, do those connect to the 12v or the Hybrid battery?

Thanks for the right up and video. This is something I’m looking at. I have been looking at the Blaze Off-road version of what you did, but $$$$.

I wish I knew more about electrical, but I’m a novice so this is great for me.

cause the hybrid system doesnt run at 12v it runs at 288v and uses the inverter (?) to step down that voltage to charge the 12v as a byproduct on hybrids since they dont have an alternator (typically, rare exceptions where a hbyrid will have an alternator) to charge the 12v battery.

Just wanted to say thanks to @williej346 for providing the video guidance and info to inspire me to attempt to take on this project for my 4R. I didn’t follow the under hood parts list exactly but am happy with the end result. Thanks again, Will! šŸ¤

We've been talking about this in my thread so thought I'd share. https://www.4runner6g.com/forum/thr...-lights-switch-panel-and-more-installed.9682/

@williej346 , I actually shared you video on my thread. Small world. And @abstraakt I used the KC power plate in my build (it looks like you are using a KC power plate

Yep, you're right the KC plate. I had to drill some additional holes on the mounting surface and use a makeshift ABS backup plate to make it work for my configuration, but I liked the way the bracket utilized existing fasteners and I didn't have to drill into the fuse box cover if I were to use a different type of aux power plate.

BTW, your build is looking really sweet!

About to tackle this now that I have my OEM light bar and aux switches added (still waiting on parts for the OEM light bar switch). Really appreciate you all doing all the hard work on these. I’ve been home for the past month or so due to taking care of an ill family member so my travel has been completely shut down. These projects have been great for keeping me busy.

Couple questions, is 2 gauge in the table or is this a ā€˜don’t be an idiot, run the 1/0 or 2/0 while you’re in there’ situation? I might do a winch one day, not sure tbh. Do you all have a link to the grommets you used in the rear or will anything that style work?

okay, one more. Anything you’re doing to protect the wire run or is being on the frame enough and I’m overthinking it?

I ran 2/o on mine. It’s a bit of distance and trying to factor in additional accessories (maybe winch) in future. Shop I use has an in-house auto electrician. I recall @williej346 saying in his video he’s got some wiring background so might be good to hear from him.
