I finally got to install the kit I got from Baja Designs during the cyber monday sale. Installation was very staightforward. I watched a few videos on youtube to see how to get the front off.

The only video I saw that mentioned the orientation of the pop out clips at the front of the tire said to move them to vertcal to pull them off. In my case they were slready in the vertical position and had to be moved to horizontal to pop off easier.I broke one trying to force it out in the vertical position. Other than that and the next part about the switch, it was smooth sailing.

On my ditch light installation post, I was incorrectly informed that I added an unecessary step of splicing an extra wire during the switch install. I tried it again the way the instructions were given (for a cali raised oem switch). I can confirm that if you do not separate the green and yellow wires from the switch, it will indeed light up when active but what lights up is both the backlight as well as the active light (the horizontal light on the switch itself).

If you want the back light on the switch to light up with your instrument lights and have the active light be off until you turn on the ditch lights or grille lights or whatever then you need to separate the green and yellow and connect the yellow to a backlight source.

One more note. i already had the ditch light wires as well as the wolfbox bumper camera cable already going through the nipple of the grommet for the firewall. I figured there wasn't enough for these switch wires to fit in there too, so I just ran it in throught the side of the grommet. Not sure if the seal is adequate this way but so far, no water has leaked into the cab. Some installation videos did suggest that this method would work fine. At first, I didn't seat the grommet all the way back in and when I drove, there was a very noticeable buzzing noise coming from the foot well. i pulled as much of the rubber grommet to the inside of the cab as I could while leaving it flush looking in the engine compartment and the sound was no longer heard.

I chose the kit with white lenses and put on amber covers. I'm 100% satisfied

By chance do you have photos of the light projection from the drivers seat? Im very curious at bight to know the difference this kit makes.

I have the CR ditch lights as well. Did you follow this instructions? It was from their YT video.

When pressed, the switch turned blue, indicate the ditch lights are on.

Did you mean to wire it so that the switch is blue with the headlights?

I havent installed it yet. Im waiting for my winch to arrive so i dont have to take the bumper off twice.

I also have a ORP so the truck is pre wired with AUX switches. I will be tying the BAJA lights into AUX 1 and not using the BAJA included light switch.

here is a comparison between the standard low beam headlights and the BD behind-grille lights.
