I have a Sport Premium trim 4x4 model and do not have start/stop feature. I do have a break assist that when activated (by pushing a switch beneath the parking break switch) I can remove my foot from the break pedal (after a complete stop and push on the break pedal switch) and the vehicle remains stopped. When the accelerator is depressed the break is released and the vehicle moves forward.

My ORP does not have ASS, thank goodness.

My Outback had that feature, it saved no consequential amount of gas. I'm no mechanic, but it felt like starting and stopping the engine that frequently wasn't great for longevity. If the A/C or other accessories were turned on, it would only shut off the engine for <30 seconds before starting back up. Eventually I trained my muscle memory to disable it every time I turned on the car.
My 25 ORP manufacture date of 08/25/25 does not have the Auto Stop start feature. And there is no button. It does not stop and keeps on ticking!

Also on a side note,

I have asked that question to the steelerships about ass features and asked about added where to the starter motor and excessive drain on the battery.

The answer I got back from all of them was; oh! this comes with a heavy duty battery and it's also a heavy duty starter motor that's designed to meet the added use.

hybrids don't need ASS,
they have a traction battery and can stop engine and sit there
and the electric motor makes you go instantly when you hit the gas

ASS vehicles requires a more expensive 12v battery that can take the beating
of constant start stop cycles. that's one reason why car batteries are so freakin expensive lately...if it goes in an ASS vehicle it needs to be special

my SR5 has no ASS, it's just normal

All 4runners have brake HOLD options so if you want to take your foot off the brake
waiting for traffic or a traffic light, it will engage the electric e-brake and hold you
in place, then as soon as you tap the gas it lets go. hybrids also engage e-brake
for brake HOLD

My Trailhunter always turns off the gas motor when stopped. Don't like it either. My CR-V has a disable button, which would be nice on the 4R, but I believe this is how Toyota inflates their mpg numbers...

I do not have the mild hybrid engine and I have no ass that I can see, at least that's what I've been told:)
