6th Gen spritz / water splash from collecting in hood grooves

Has anyone else noticed that under certain conditions water tends to pool in the grooves on the hood and then splashes up onto the windshield?
I have a Trailhunter so no idea if this happens on the hoods that have scoops, but it seems like water will pool on the deep grooves that run the length of the hood from the windshield to the front, and then usually when I slow down to about 20 mph it runs forward and is then blown up onto the windshield. It's not an issue per se, just something interesting I have noticed.

In the first picture you can see a bunch of water closer to the windshield on the left, and the second picture shows after it was blown up onto the windshield as I slowed heading towards the traffic light.

Yes same happens on mine. Haven't been able to test it out on the highway at higher speeds though

YES! And also in the grooves of the door. I keep forgetting to stand to the side when I open the door, and I get drenched in the face with rainwater. Anyone know how to resolve that little issue?

Yep, I have noticed this also on the ORP. I also have the water collecting in the door molding, When I open the door I get a wet shoulder and neck

The whole vehicle has poor water drainage. Every door will get you and the inside of the vehicle wet when it's raining. And don't open the sunroof when there's any water on the roof after a rain or it's gonna end up in your lap.

Mine does it too. And the water on the roof flows down the front window when I slow down and stop. I had my 4Runner ceramic coated so the paint is very smooth. My son has a Ford F-150 and his does the same thing with the water on the hood splashing onto the front window when slowing down and stopping so its not just a Toyota thing.

If you’re driving over 35 the water is channeled back and out the sides.

has happened to me as well. have yet to get drenched opening the door or moonroof though so will have to watch for that one

yes, but it is not only on 4 Runners. RR Sport same splashes with a smooth hood shape.

My 5th gen hood does the same thing. I find it entertaining.
