*edit* see my reply post below about unplugging the weep holes

Anyone else having issues with water dripping from the rear liftgate on the passenger side of the main inner plastic panel with the liftgate in the open position? Sorry I don't have a photo.

I hosed down the vehicle for a car wash, then as I was drying the vehicle, I opened the rear gate and a steady drip was coming out of the plastic panel just under the window.

Havent had that yet but after a rain when I open up the rear doors water drips down into the car a bit. I would upload photos but this site won't let me do it from my phone. There's lots of big gaps in the car I've noticed. Both rear tail lights have a large channel at the top of light where it meets the metal body and allows water into the top of light. My front doors and front fenders have a bag big enough I can see the hinge from outside. Im curious how watertight this vehicle is.

After noticing water collecting in the liftgate again (could hear it sloshing inside) I decided to compare the 6th generation liftgate to my 5th generation, and noticed that the weep holes in the 6th gen have plugs on them. Not sure if by design or by mistake. I removed 3 plugs from the weep holes, and water cam gushing out. We recently had a torrential downpour, so will be reporting back to see if the sloshing still occurs the next downpour or car wash.

These are 3 plugs total that I removed and water came dripping out:

5th gen weep holes not blocked as they dont have the plugs that were on my 6th gen:

um water came pouring out of that hole

um those "big open square holes" you see are visible because I took out those small rubber plugs that were in them. Does everyone have the plugs in?

Just checked mine and apparently it’s different than yours, maybe due to it being a power liftgate? My center plug is the same as yours (and I noticed a weep hole above it) but my side plugs are different.

the side ones are more oval shaped and close to the same size as the small hole in the middle of the liftgate

I did pull the side ones out and they had some sand and grass in it so obviously had water in it at one point. I’m planning on leaving them out, but am going to leave the large center one plugged. That seems more like an access hole to me for wiring or the latch.

thanks for the heads up and hope that helps some even though yours is different!

That's interesting. I've noticed that after a power wash following driving on dusty roads everything looks clean but soon after there's a lot of washed dust residue on top of the rear bumper. Clearly it's not getting flushed out.
