295/70/18 tires on stock TRD Pro

Our OEM's were Wildpeak A/T 3WA (not LT) which have a different tread than Wildpeak A/T 3W.

I prefer an LT for durability offroad.

On your 4R, how do those Toyo LT's perform? Handling, noise, ride quality ?

I'm considering these same Toyo's. Had them on our Ford Ranger for 5+ years and loved them.

Were your OEM tires 265/70R18 Falken Wildpeaks ?

How do these Toyo LT's compare ? Noise, ride quality, etc.

I am by no means a tire expert, and I had all these tires on different vehicles. I had BF KO2s on a lifted 2017 Nissan Armada, Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws on a Nissan Pathfinder, and finally Toyo OC ATIII 3W on this rig, a 2025 Toyota 4Runner ORP-hybrid.

The BF KO2s seemed to be the loudest, but they were 35s. They handled great in the snow and on dry, and from the little bit of off-roading I did (light trails). They were definitely the most expensive, most aggressive-looking, and at the time, I didn't know much about tires, and purchased them because "that's what everyone else was putting on their Armadas."

The Falkens were awesome tires. (275's). They gave the Nissan a better, more road-grippy feeling and also handled well in the snow, rain, and dry. They probably had the best cost for the type of tire I was looking for at that time. I never considered Toyos, but I may have opted to go with them if I had researched them. I think these may have had the deepest tread brand new out of all the tires I've researched over the years.

The Toyos on my ORP are awesome. They handle well in the rain, snow, and on dry, and give me a better ride in the sense of "grabbing the road," but are definitely louder than the stock Michelin tires. From what I remember, they were the lightest, best-priced, most practical tread pattern and offered the greatest variety of sizes/ratings out of all the 18s I was looking at, including BF, Nitto, Falken, and others. They had the best snow rating and reviews, which is important as I live in northern IL. I like the stock wheels I have and don't plan on changing them yet, but when I do, I will stay with Toyo Open Countrys and move down to a 17" wheel.

For me, it was a no-brainer to choose these tires, especially since I've owned all the other big brands that are comparable to these.

Very helpful, thanks! Our ORP came with ($$$$) 18" TRD black wheels. If I didn't like them so much, would be going down to 17" wheels & tires. I'll stick with 18" for now.

I noticed the Toyo LT265/70R18 has a lower speed rating then LT275/70R18.

Did you buy five 275's or leave the spare 265 with a slight mismatch?

I’m running 285/70/18 Ko3’s on my current setup with Torq Engineering 2” lift-level kit and ARK crash delete plates.

I am bias to the Ko3 as I’ve had Ko2’s on both of my raptors and they are handled awesome in all weather.
So far I haven’t noticed a lot of noise, just run proper PSI in them and get them aligned by someone who knows how to do heavier / larger tires (a performance shop preferably).
