  1. Skid plate compatibility between 4Runner and Tacoma

Thanks for the clarification. It looks like this one uses different middle holes altogether?
  2. Skid plate compatibility between 4Runner and Tacoma

Just looking for a clear answer on the compatibility situation for skid plates between the two new generations of vehicles. NYTOP vendor stated in another thread that the middle screw locations are different for Tacoma and 4R and therefore need a long slot to maintain compatibility with both...
  3. Almost got caught in a Bait & Switch at a Wisconsin Dealership

Interesting perspective, all that I heard from all kinds of reviewers and owners was that the LC was loud with no acoustic glass and near vertical windshield
  4. Car Care Nut Mechanic Reviews 2025 4Runner 6th gen

iirc both driveshafts might be shared with the LC, very similar if not identical as to grease fittings Taco wheelbase would be different
  5. SR5 - Stock Wheels - How big can I go in tires to absorb road bumps

285/70R17 is the size in question, that some tire manufacturer spec sheets deemed too wide for the SR5 17x7" wheel. Just go 265/70R17 (31.5), 245/75R17 (31.5) or 255/75R17 (32) if you're worried about width
  6. Car Care Nut Mechanic Reviews 2025 4Runner 6th gen

I can't be as comprehensive as AI, but here's some of my main takeaways from the exterior part - the previous LC, GX and Tacoma videos covered a lot of common TNGA-F and powertrain details: D-4ST injectors are loud Quick disconnect coolant fittings, potential annoyance/concern shared with...
  7. Anyone Else Seeing 2025 4Runners With Discounts Already?

Don't forget about the lack of SR5 colour options! For the price they're asking for Sport, it should really have come with the 14" screen. I've seen a lot of LCs and GXs around, but only saw my first 6th gen on the road last Tuesday. Followed behind a heritage blue Sport in traffic. Looked...
  8. Anyone Else Seeing 2025 4Runners With Discounts Already?

Interestingly for the inventory that has showed up in the past few weeks, a few I have seen are around the 56.8k mark because some charge a lower doc fee of about $500. I will have to check again but I think Toyota MSRP accounts for a $995 doc fee hence the usual 57.2k number. When it comes...
  9. What Convinced You to Go with the 6th Gen?

I was browsing used 5th gens for months, but currently they cost as much or more than 6th gens in my area with 10s or even 100k on the odo. 5th gen has its undeniable perks but they aren't worth that obscene price to me. Especially with the very unimpressive driving dynamics from the powertrain...
  10. Car Care Nut Mechanic Reviews 2025 4Runner 6th gen

It is my understanding that AVS is all 4 corners, it would be a really strange choice on any vehicle to do an adaptive setup and only opt to do the fronts. The footage shows the actuator and wires near the bottom of the rear shock, so
  11. Car Care Nut Mechanic Reviews 2025 4Runner 6th gen

Maybe just in terms of fit and finish. I've heard a number of reviewers say at this point that basically the same parts feel like they are put together better in 6G 4R than 4G Taco Of course, that's incredibly subjective but whatever, remarks like that are not the reason I tune into his reviews
  12. Car Care Nut Mechanic Reviews 2025 4Runner 6th gen

I wonder how much of that stiffness he attributed to AVS is due to 20" wheels wrapped in 31.5" tires. Certainly been a few people complaining about the stiffness of the suspension.
  13. So disappointed in seat height!

imho the console side grab handle is infinitely more useful than a random A-pillar handle, in any vehicle but I might be biased as to height and arm length
  14. 2025 4Runner SR5 versus 2025 Tacoma SR5

I wouldn't bet on 2026 with the current tariff landscape, but maybe a slight possibility of a Premium package of some sort in the next couple years. Heated seats is standard in Canada. As for the others like parking assist and upgraded stereo/infotainment, it might start to intrude on TRD...
  15. British Columbia has a 4R Platinum OVER MSRP

That was my hope too when the tariffs began ramping up. But I'm not sure how that will work or when we might start seeing fruition, Canada spec is different on some trims
  16. British Columbia has a 4R Platinum OVER MSRP

Limited and Platinum have had the power running boards supply problem starting April 1st in Canada. On the 1st both trims were pulled from build&price, then added back later - Limited got a slight discount (boards deleted?), and Platinum got split into 2 trims for fixed and power running boards...
  17. SL rated sidewalls what adventures

Agreed, and besides, durability depends so much on the specific tire choice that it's pointless to tar tires with the same brush just because they're SL or LT. Falken made a lot of noise about their new branded 3-ply sidewall, yet quietly excludes it from SL or even some LT sizes. Yet GY...
  18. How long before the 3.4L engine shows up in Tacoma, 4Runner, Land Cruiser

I'm a huge fan of the 2.7EB but idk if I'd go that far. Wet belt in Gen2 is not a great choice. If they had only kept the chain from Gen1 it might very well be the perfect engine.
  19. How long before the 3.4L engine shows up in Tacoma, 4Runner, Land Cruiser

I don't, and said as much lol. For that very reason. Not sure if you quoted the wrong person A small V6 *might* still get tolerable range on the 19gal, but not the V35A.
  20. How long before the 3.4L engine shows up in Tacoma, 4Runner, Land Cruiser

If you bothered to actually read, I was referring to the prospect of having the V35A on the 19gal tank. 16 city/19 hwy is perfectly in line with what that engine is doing.
