  1. Tested: 4Runner Hybrid Acceleration is Quickest in RWD Mode (Reason - to Protect Front Differential)

I mean, that's really not the point I was making. My point was about the way Toyota combined the pw/tq ratings like it's a truly, simply a performance adder like they say it is. The actual performance and now the C&D testing suggests otherwise.
  2. How long before the 3.4L engine shows up in Tacoma, 4Runner, Land Cruiser

It seems they are quite content with letting iForce Max "compete" with the likes of 2.7EB and 2.7 L3B, so I'm guessing never. I could go for a clean sheet 2.7-3.0L v6 that rivals 2.7EB mpgs though. Seeing how the GX/Tundra MPGs go? I'd take it over a hybrid if they add a larger fuel tank to the...
  3. Tested: 4Runner Hybrid Acceleration is Quickest in RWD Mode (Reason - to Protect Front Differential)

I don't disagree as to the function of 1MHV, I personally don't have anything against it and think it in the 4R strikes a nice balance as to weight. But from its launch till now I don't think I have heard any Toyota employee or reviewer in any media describe it as an assist. They've always...
  4. Aftermarket wheels with factory offset?

Any other OEM designs you like? The nice thing is being able to fit pretty much any TNGA-F, tons of potential options. There was a recent thread about Taco Prerunner, pics of GX Overtrail wheels on 4R, other Tundra trim wheels on 4G Tacos over on their forum, etc. But yeah, I think you'll find...
  5. Tested: 4Runner Hybrid Acceleration is Quickest in RWD Mode (Reason - to Protect Front Differential)

This is more noteworthy to me: Might at least partly explain why the T24A-based iForce Max in real performance performs worse than one would expect from, say, a twin turbo V6 with the same on-paper pw/tq ratings. i.e. reviewers complaining how much a dog the LC is vs GX. Something never felt...
  6. 2025 4Runner SR5 brakes squeal like dying banshee when cold

It's a well known issue across multiple TNGA-F vehicles, brake squeal when cold, but no official fix yet afaik Most people report it mainly in reverse though
  7. My LIMITED (Gas Non-Hybrid) 2025 4Runner Delivered!

It's kinda weird to be recommending splitting the tires like they are directional. Most guides I have seen rotate all 5 through all positions. Are the stock tires crossclimate 2s or what
  8. My LIMITED (Gas Non-Hybrid) 2025 4Runner Delivered!

I can imagine that it may be easier to look online for takeoffs. When I was looking for part numbers for the taco Prerunner, even the parts catalog for that 2024 model was spotty and incomplete as to wheels. I need to check again but I'm pretty sure those parts websites are still largely empty...
  9. My LIMITED (Gas Non-Hybrid) 2025 4Runner Delivered!

245/75R17 is the exact same diameter as Limited/Platinum/Sport stock size. I don't think steelies come in 20s. The width difference is curious, why they wouldn't just use 265/70R17 to get the same width is a weird decision.
  10. Skid Plates install on 2025 4Runner TRD Sport 6th Gen?

HALLELUJAH thanks for the info, makes it so much easier to bolt on both OEM and aftermarket skid plates
  11. 4Runner got its first bath!!

    It's the toyota dark age
  12. 4Runner got its first bath!!

Nice. Yours is one of the SR5s I have pics saved for tire upgrade reference lol What I wouldn't give for silver, heritage blue and supersonic red to have been available on SR5 in Canada.
  13. Lasfit Floor Mats for Hybrid 6th gen?

Think they're referring to the toyota one I'm not sure I see tremendous benefit from going aftermarket, strictly for the cargo mat
  14. Can this Oil Catch Can fit?

Wouldn't a catch can be addressing a problem that basically doesn't exist on a dual injection motor?
  15. VF Tuner power torque & HP gains on Hybrid i-Force Max 2.4L (dyno)

These dyno graphs on all T24A vehicles are really confusing to me. The numbers are either insanely out of this world (i.e. more hp/tq at wheel than advertised crank), or straight up appalling (like here). Doesn't ever seem to be any in-between.
  16. Prerunner wheels part numbers?

Glad to see similar-minded people, it's the exact wheel I would go after for an upgrade on SR5, the 17" OR design is perfect except for the stupid not-even-fake-beadlock contrast rim It seems like the operative part of the part number might be the last suffix and maybe the prefix? -...
  17. Hood scoop is pleasant to have

hood trembling seems to be a 6G tacoma and 4G 4runner exclusive so far
  18. Hybrid Drivetrain / Transmission Vibration

Just curious, what was your previous frame of reference as to vehicles before the 4G taco and 6G 4R? I ask because I have driven other vehicles that lug badly due to lazy trans downshifting (5.0 gen3 coyote + 10R80, and 3.6 LGZ + 8L45) I would expect it from the Hybrid (in the interest of using...
  19. 285/70R17 Baja Boss A/T tires on stock SR5 wheels, no rub

Is the jury still out as to contact patch on 285/70R17 on the 7" wide rim? Nice ride by the way. The heritage stripes are a really nice understated touch on underground.
