Hello All: New to 4 Runner and new to this community. Excited to start this new adventure! I took delivery of a 2025 Platinum on December 18. I think it looks really sharp in Underground! OEM tires are 265/55 R20 all seasons, which is an awkward size to upgrade. Finally settled on Nokian Outpost nAT's at 265/60 R20. Anyone else with 20" wheels struggled to find AT's? So far they have performed very well in the terrible Calgary weather. Also a big shout out to Renee and her crew at Ultimate Auto Protection for the PPF and ceramic coating.

Welcome to the club, your truck looks great!

I also went with 265/60R20 ATs on my Limited (also Underground ;)). Not only do they dimensionally match the stock 18” tire size used on the other 6g 4R trims (and the 20” rims have the same offset as the 18”), but I think 265/60R20 is a stock size on other TNGA-F platform-mates, so IMO it makes a lot of sense.

For the Limited, the biggest annoyance is needing to source a new spare due to the diameter change. The 17” steelie that comes on the Limited has no available 32.5” tire sizes. So I ordered a 5th Limited wheel that should be delivered Monday. Now I can have an identical spare and do 5-wheel rotations etc.

I went to Ultimate Auto Protection in SE Calgary. I thought they did an excellent job. They have various packages for PPF and ceramic coating, so the price will depend on your choice. ultimateautoprotection.ca

Congrats! But make sure you have a paint pen. Bc Underground is one of the colors that you’ll see a scratch very easily on.

going to a 265/60R20 is an oddball choice

here are the safe choices you should have gone with ... in green

going with that odd ball size this will be the result from oem spec

It’s not oddball at all. It’s substantially the same dimensions as 265/70R18 which is the stock 18” size for the 4Runner, on a wheel with the same offset as the stock 18”.

So 265/60R20 gets you to OR/ORP stock dimensions, offset, ground clearance almost exactly.

but the 18's run a bigger sidewall to make up the difference dont they? i mean technically running a oem 18 vs a oem 20 size wise makes it so the computers and what not dont see any difference.

your speedo isnt off, the odo doesnt get skewed long term wise and what ever else is affected by being out of spec?

i mean the 245/70R18 is the same tire in 265/55R20

if you go 265/70R18 then you get a slight discrepancy by about 2 mph, but then i get confused as to why they are standard on some trims.

Yeah, I think it's been an open question how the speedo is dealt with given there are a couple stock tire diameters (31.6" sr5, 31.5" lim/plat, 32.6" OR/Pro/Trail). But Toyota could've specced 265/65R18 (31.6") instead of 265/70R18 if they were interested in maintaining stock diameter across the lineup.

So either they just use the same calibration for both sizes and consider it "safe" for speedo to read higher than your actual speed by a couple MPH on the 32.6" trims, or there's a toggle somewhere maybe accessible by ODB2 to set it to 31.5" vs 32.6". For me personally I'm fine with the 3% delta with no recalibration until this becomes more widely understood.
