Hello ,Iwas a proud owner of a 25 SR5 supersonic red , but now not so proud.Have had fender flare issues dealer agreed and changed flares new ones were as bad as factory ones ,dealership told me “nothing. we can do call toyota .After contacting toyota ,sending pictures and returning to dealership to meet with there regional representative they told me yes indeed there is a manufacturing defect but there is nothing they can do . Ok mad as hell but I will live with it.

Now this is where i’ve started to loose it ,have the brake squeal issue, went on waiting list for a month .Parts arrived and were replaced, brakes squealing as bad as they originally were, contacted dealership and was told nothing they can do call toyota. My first thought was here we go again , there response was take it for a second opinion, that maybe that dealership didn’t have the correct knowledge of how to fix . I politely told them we are talking about brake replacement not a lightbulb replacement, how can they not have qualified techs for that . So i’m off to find another toyota dealership. This so so sad and frustrating .Has anyone else had squealing after replacement per the TBS.

Hello, sorry you are having problems. I have not had any issues with my SR5 but it sounds like your dealer is a shitty one

Sorry to hear about your issues. My fender flares are OK. I was curious when was your 4Runner manufactured, mine was May 2025? I developed the brake squeal after 1,000 miles. It definitely happens more frequently when it's damp and/or the brakes are wet (after washing the car). I plan to address it when I take it in for the 5k service. There's a TSB for it on this forum. I read it and besides new parts, the tech has to file down the pad edges and apply grease to specific parts. He probably did not follow them completely, thus the problem returned. That is my hunch. I would try another dealer as well. Good luck and keep us posted.

probably the same issue that TRD Jon had on his tacoma 4runner, fender flares not flush with the body or having ripple issues along the leading edge of the flare that meets the body.

fender flares pull away from body no contact mostly on radius. Like i said toyota’s technical rep came down to view he admitted that is a faulty manufacturing error but unfortunately there is no remedy for it , mine are the black unpainted flares , as far as manufacturing date i’ll have to get back to you not with vehicle

if i remember correctly was bad adhesive to hold the flare to the body correctly that was supposed to be fixed in production on the tacoma's 4runner.

it might have been just a bad install and during the trip from japan it might have separated.

big issue is to make sure the new install is done in a warm environment and had time to cure. cold temps will cause the adhesive to shrink and cause issues.

here is the video on his 2025 4R

Iwas told by fed rep from toyota that there is no adhesive on the flares , you can slip a piece of paper around the flares and body, this is the 2nd attempt to fix the first time they received new flares they didn’t even put them on due to them being in worse condition than the factory flares 2nd time they put them on they were still bowed to them in dealership they were not acceptable there response contact toyota .So I did.

Hi, you will need to have the break pads shaved on the edges this is the only way to stop the squealing.
