I gave the Covercraft UVS 100 Premier a shot, but after a test fit I could tell it was going to be a a pain to deal with. The vertical fit was extremely tight and the horizontal fit left gaps on the edges. Not worth the high price and it was returned to Amazon.
I ended up with a Heatshield...
I have 3 single 2026 SR5 takeoff wheels for sale in Salt Lake City. Perfect condition. Removed at 27 miles. Center caps, valve stems, and lug nuts included. Perfect for a matching spare.
Local pickup only. $80 per wheel.
The parts prices are very good (get online and see for yourself), but the hourly labor rate seems to be sky high. Shop around and see if its fair for your locale. I wouldn’t expect a shop to bill less than 6 to 8 hours for a full suspension swap with UCAs. They might get it done it less time...
The fact that the strap exists really highlights the lack of forethought that was put into the second row design. Seems like a quick fix from a concept vehicle that was never addressed before final production ramped up.

No need to ask AI about this. 🤦🏻♂️
You can look up the approved rim widths on Falken’s (or any manufacturer’s) website. OP’s 275/70/17 is fine for 7-8.5” wide wheels. The problem with going wider on SR5 wheels (285) is that you need minimum rim width of 7.5”.
People are mounting 285s on SR5...
I was about to start a similar thread.
Aside from the weight penalty of 275/70/17, it seems like the best option if using the 17” SR5 wheels and you want to upsize. 265s still leave a lot of room in the wheel wells. 285s shouldn't be mounted on a 7” wide wheel per most manufacturer specs...
I'm coming from a 5th gen have no problem fitting 180cm skis in the back with the driver side rear seat folded forward. They just need to be placed at an angle. The 6th gen design has me concerned that this might not be an option since the entire seat folds forward, not just the bottom half...
