There is a fiberglass liner under the hood that disperses any water that may get into the hood scoop (probably very minimal)

You can put a snorkel on the car and it'll drive with the engine submerged. A bit of rain won't do anything.
Wrong and bad advise to propagate.
Show me in the manual or a Toyota doc thats stated you can submerge the engine if you have a snorkel.

Nice looking hood. Wonder what it cost and if its more ridged than the OEZm?

 That hood is a perfect match in that underground color. Just 🔥🔥 🔥! Ordered my wife's Seibon hood on Thursday morning, picked it up in the afternoon, and put it on when we got home, then drove over 1000 miles to Colorado from Socal.

Thank you
They retail for $1800 but are available online for $1620. Seibon hooked me up with a local retailer who did even better than that
Rigidity wise seems about equal to the stock hood. certainly lighter for sure

Wife wasn't having the idea of leaving the hood off the car till after we returned. So we drove careful to not tailgate and not speed or at least not super speed. Drove between 70-80 mph. Checked it at every stop and had no rock chips or scratches. We did find a wrap shop over here in CO and miraculously they had the availability. They are installing today and I'm picking it up in the AM. I have hood struts and insulation coming soon.

the OEM snorkel does not allow you to submerge the engine

submerging an engine successfully and not doing damage
would require 4-5 grand of modifications

I just bought this hood, I added the one with the side vents so getting it PPF'd is not an option, way too expensive...I'm going to add a front protecter and ceramic coat. Quick question...What did you use for heat protection under the hood? Thanks!

I used an Amazon acquired OEM type under hood insulation. Think it was like $77 and installed easily to the designated spots under the hood.
Note that you need to drill those out so I would get a drill bit stop if you dont already have one

Same as @Franco . Bought off amazon too and will need to drill out holes. If you need to remove it for any reason like me just be careful- sounds like the carbon is cracking but no worries. Use a trim tool or apply even pressure on all sides to wiggle and remove them and it will be fine. Also buy some more clips as they are ruined once removed. A recommended to buy hood struts if you haven't bought it already.
