Best A/T Tires Review: Scorpion All Terrain Plus, Nokian Outpost NAT, BFG KO3, Westlake SL369, Wrangler Duratrac RT, Wildpeak AT4, Recon Grappler
It's a tale of two discount tires, one that listens and one that only cares about sending cars through the door.
The tire techs at the second opinion place could actually see the tire wobbling on the balancer.
Large 10 ply tires like these do get their share of lemons, something KO2/3 buyers are too familiar with.
Balancing issue aside, these still drive fantastic.
Great steering response overall, quickly forgets bumps in the road.
They make an 18 KO3 that is D load.
Yeah, not in LT275/70R18 though, but rather 265.
Would rather have the extra clearance for 33" size but it's a good option.
That being said, even the LT275 Pirelli E load is 3lbs lighter than the D load KO3.
That Pirelli only has a 2 ply sidewall. Okay depending on your use case.
Yeah the 3-ply is good if you 100% need full armor every where.
Pirelli is seemingly going about this with an extended tread block side wall, instead of doing another layer.
Even for Colorado off-roading, I'd rather save the 10lbs of rotational mass and rely on my air compressor and glue tread patches instead.

That's why the Nokian Outpost nAT keeps on my short list. Average weight, XL load construction, 3-ply, Aramid plies, good reputation, etc.
Ran Yankee Hill through Cumberland today, the tires were great!

Very sure footed and would simply climb over anything you pointed them at.
Had them aired down to 19psi and the ride was excellent.
Even getting back on to I-70, didn't hear one stone come flying out.
