TRD Sport guys like me have the self-awareness that we use the car as a daily driver and of course will be prioritizing a smoother ride. While we won’t be off roading, we do go on light trails or sandy beaches. A trd sport is more than capable of that. You bought the trd off road but you don't go off roading thereby trying to pass yourself off as something you are not. By definition, you are a poser.

But the main reason you are a poser is because you judge people who buy cars based on looks. Buying a car based on how it looks does not make you a poser; it is every consumer’s right. All car owners exercise this right, even you. And who are you to judge anyone for it? Why would I buy a crossover if I hate the way it looks?

You bought the 4runner because you had “Little interest in hardcore off roading but lots of interest in bad weather ability, overall utility, reliability and durability.” I have bad news for you but by your own standards, you could’ve bought a rav4 with awd but you are definitely not ready for that conversation yet.

idk either. I think everyone just assumes if you get a Tacoma or 4Runner it has to be a hard core off roader. That may be fine if you live on the western half of the US. In the central and eastern half there just aren't that many off road opportunities. So while I am interested in a 4runner, it would be a Sport or Limited. why... well I want a smaller suv that can tow 5k lbs and take the family to the outer banks and drive out on the beach. I don't want the noise and harshness of a Jeep. I don't like Ford products and don't want the noise that comes with frameless doors and removable roof panels that I'll never take off. GM doesn't make a 4x4 unless you step up to the Tahoe/Yukon. Land Rover is really the only other option. The GX is overkill and the Land Cruiser is too bare bones and over priced or just flat out over priced in top spec. The 4runner is too but at least it's a price I could realistically afford.

I just received mine and in the previous version I would have never bought a trd sport but in the 6 gen man I am glad I did. I will blackout my wheels and dip the frond logo in black. It will be all black and looks so great and drive awesome!

I was a little Leary because my Sport premium doesn’t have the rear locker. I’ve owned several 5th gen and I got to thinking………have I ever used the locker? No. This truck has everything I need and some things I don’t but I love it. It’s the best Runner I’ve ever owned.

I also took delivery of my Sport premium on March 8, and I am loving it.

I got the TRD Sport Premium because of the XREAS suspension and mostly in town driving. I am adding the Trailhunter skids and Bridgestone Dueler AT Ascent all terrain tires for snow conditions and the rare offroad driving. It might not be the best configuration for many 4Runner owners but it works for me. Only thing I don't like is the fake hood scoop.

can you explain how the new 4R Sport has x-reas ? i cannot find any documentation saying any 6th gen 4R has x-reas.

i went thru all the press releases for the 6th gen and the owners manual and i see no mention of x-reas.

i see mention of the sport tuned shocks but that is not the same thing as x-reas.

i do know the limited/platinum has electronic shocks that are adjustable, but x-reas was only exclusive to the 5th gen limited from what i remember.

they dropped that system for the avs system on the 6th gen.

avs pretty much is exclusive to all the new TNGA-F based BoF vehicles now.

i mean i loved the x-reas system on my 2014 limited. simple closed mechanical system with no fancy motors/electronics. pita to replace, roughly $800 per pair if you found one of the shocks leaking.

most just abandoned the system in place (the hydraulic tubing linking the cross shocks) and put regular Bilstein 5100 shocks in.

Plenty of places on the east coast to off road. I have 3 off road parks within 45 minutes of central Pa.

I stand corrected on the XREAS claim for 2026 Sport. I had it on my older generation and assumed that the following meant XREAS: sport-tuned suspension with unique dampers and 20-inch wheels.

I find it kind of funny that people say the black fender flare look cheap, yet they like the look of the cheap, flimsy fake plastic hood scoop that sticks out like a sore thumb.
I debated between the Sport and ORP and ultimately went with the ORP because I didn’t like the cheap, fake contrasting hood scoop. I really wish they would have incorporated the scoop into the hood as one solid piece like they did on my 5th gen.
