why do many of these posts on here sound like from a online marketing guy for toyota.........hahahaI think that the vast majority of people that buy a 4Runner do it because it has ALWAYS been a reliable, well-equipped, and "cool" vehicle to own and NOT because they want to go hard-core off-roading. Any 4Runner trim can handle light trails/camping. Nearly 40% of the people that responded to this poll said they will do mods just for the looks and had no plans to go off roading.
It's the hard-core off-roaders or maybe people that live in geographic areas that get more extreme weather, those people focus on all the off-road capabilities and are more vocal about it on a forum such as this.
The casual 4Runner, street only drivers, they don't get as involved in these discussions as the hard-core people do. If the vast majority of the people on this 4Runner forum are not going off-road, you can bet that an even bigger majority of 4Runner owners that do not visit this forum are also not going off-road and don't need cameras underneath the chassis, skid plates, heavy duty suspension, etc. Most people driving a 4Runner does not care about that stuff, IMO.
Everybody likes what they like, and that is fine. Pick the trim level you like and make a move, go put down a deposit on the one that suits you best.
