Not a lot of space. 2 1/2 inches.
If you replaced the board with plywood/MDF and had a support in the middle, you could get another inch. The board is a hard foam that is quite thick. I didn't measure, just going by looks.

Here are the stl files.
I have included two files for the bracket. One with a simple hole and the other with a slot. The screw is okay if you print it horizontally. You may have to chase the threads with a die depending on your printer setup.

If you don't trust the screw, source one on amazon or get a wing-bolt and use the bracket with the hole.
Amazing, thank you!

Regardless of the well below the floor, I have to think there's a lot of dead air space inside the big wasted outgrowth of interior plastic that Toyota created just to accommodate cupholders for the small number of 4runners that have a 3rd row kiddie seat. On both sides.

Using a zoomed portion of Vincenzo's photo:

Where the cup holders are, it looks like these could pop off. If some could make a replacement piece that has a flat top, possibly higher with a flip up door to store smaller items. Maybe combined with a liner so items donā€˜t fall where they couldn’t be reached.
