Awesome, will do -that's a really helpful suggestion!Put it into 4WD and see you still those vibrations. If you do, at least you can rule out the needle bearing.

As the OP in this thread, I ask you to test drive some new ones on the lot. See if you can feel what we went through.I have no low/dull vibration at highway speeds that I've noticed. But perhaps I'm less sensitive than you?
Hey OP - curious, where did you also test drive the ones in MA? I got mine at Woburn Toyota and have been back and forth w/ the service mgr there... patiently awaiting their callback to discuss next steps after the initial rebalance & tire replacement for the 1 out of round. As the OP in this thread, I ask you to test drive some new ones on the lot. It's not a sensitivity issue... simply it's a "it does vibrate or does not vibrate" issue.
My wife and I (sometimes separately, with friends, and also together) have driven many other 6Gs, some hybrid, some not. Of the 9 others we've driven at dealers in RI, MA and SC, (in addition to the one I used to own), only 1 didn't vibrate noticeably - tested by my wife and her friend in SC - sold by the time I was down there.
Of those that vibrated, some you don't feel much (have to be at highway speed), some you feel throughout the cabin.
To put it nicely, don't disparage those that have had this issue, it exists. To be kind: get bent.
(None of them went away in 4 hi. we tested all of them)
Bristol (bought). Also test drove others at Greico (EP RI) and Parkway after the buy. All vibrated to varying levels. I'm thinking they're taking the $$$ hit on the "out of round" excuse and replacing tires until they can define the problem and "hope" it goes away, as there really shouldn't be that many "out of round" tires on one model of car. I asked them "how many other cars have out of round tires from the factory?" Umm.... "well, some." Suuurreeee.Hey OP - curious, where did you also test drive the ones in MA? Looks like you've devoted many, many hours to this. I hope you get to the bottom of it. Good luck.As the OP in this thread, I ask you to test drive some new ones on the lot. See if you can feel what we went through.

Limited prem and non, Off Road Prem hybrid and non, TRD Pro, Sport Prem, etc...

To put it nicely, don't disparage those that have had this issue, it exists. To be kind: get bent. It's not normal. No other new vehicle should vibrate like this. The NOT a TOYOTA I bought didn't. Nor any other vehicles I have test driven in the past 2 years between buying my CX70, having that wrecked, buying the 6G and being told by the dealer "it's just the tires, we can fix this". Which is why I started this thread, if you have the vibration on the test drive, DON'T BUY THE CAR. IT'S UNKNOWN what it is, and it is NOT THE TIRES. The sales people will tell you "under warranty, you're covered." That's a lie. Don't walk... run away... from that 6Gand try another 6G to see if the vibration exists.

I am skeptical of 100mph+ vibration free. That doesn't sound realistic.gotta be prop shaft related imho. angle of joints or vertical angle of shafts is out of spec
if this is AWD then the cardan joint adds complication to sorting out driveline imbalance
and yes any vibrations above 50 are no good.
doesn't matter 'you want a plush ride get a lexus'
no no no any 4runner should be able to go 100mph+ vibration free. yes suspension will be harsh and yes road noise will invade, but tires and driveline should be butter smooth on a smooth paved road. there is some unfound imbalance somewhere that needs to be remedied. my SR5 4wd is butter smooth at very high speeds
Thanks for this, very insightful. Yes, my tire pressures have been set exactly at 33 ever since the first time I noticed it, and have been checking it persistently.Bristol (bought). You have the same regional service rep as that delt with mine. Be ready for the same answer I had "i don't feel it anymore". Also, be sure the tire pressure is put back to 33 when you get it picked up.
there are no harmonic or cyclic vibrations I can detect.I am skeptical of 100mph+ vibration free. That doesn't sound realistic.
That's pretty hilarious! It would be interesting to hear them explain how any of the suspension components cause an actual vibration. Clunking on bumps? Sure. Poor handling in turns or when braking? Absolutely. But a vibration? Highly unlikely unless you just installed a lift that can push the caster out of spec. Vibes are typically a resonation from a rotating mass, right? So wheels/tires are first culprits, driveshafts or half shafts are next on the list, and lastly (and most costly) axle shafts or transmissions.
But it's also possible that it's you.Just had tires rotated at 6500. Prior to rotation, no vibration. Now Front's moved to rear and vibration in the rear only at 75-77MPH. Still nothing on front tires. All it takes is one wheel or tire out of round but I don't think its tires/wheels. Something in the driveline: Axles-bearing, driveshaft of Torque converter. Toyota's MO is ignore and blame other manufacturers. We will see.
It's what he does. If he doesn't have the problem or experience it, no one else, therefore, can either. Impossible.Nah, don't thing so. Been working cars a long time. Maybe it threw a wheel weight and will have it checked.
But gotta to ask how so do you think it's me without offering any comment based on fact?
