Solid work dude. 🤙🏼 and glad to know Toyota hooked us up with a console safe.

I throw too many things in the center console to use as a safe. Going to check out how my Vaultech fits under the seat.

Guys i am not handy but have done this myself a couple of times.
Do not pay dealership to do this. Not even 15 minutes and no instructions. Need a 10mm and a 1/2” And that’s all. You unscrew 4 bolts and screw back 8. That is it. Oh, get a paper clip and set the combo ( that had instructions).

Agree these should be self-installed, but it is a more difficult, two-piece install versus my 2020 Limited Nightshade that was one piece, four bolt, and in. These consoles are a lot smaller, at least in the hybrid. However, when put to its proper use as demonstrated in your photos, it is essential to have.

If the driver is left-handed, then you have proper placement for your cargo. If the driver is right-handed, then the cargo should be placed on its left side. If traveling through a suspect area, the cargo should be kept under your thigh.

When I traded in my 2020 I left the console safe in it because it would not fit the new 2025 console, and it would not fit the console in the Gen4 I gave my daughter. The cost of this item is stupid, but the value is priceless.

Good install, good mod, and good looking out.

I am pretty sure this is a Console Vault brand repackaged and sold as OEM, not a Toyota made product. That said, I have used these and they are good.

I’ve looked at these but I’d have to get a whole new gun just to have one small enough to fit.
In my last vehicle (Ford Escape), the console safe was small. I was able to get a Glock 30Sf .45 ACP in it but it was touching the edges. They are crude, no frills safes. They satisfy most of the blue cities requirements, at least California for firearm storage as long as you have the 4 digit combo. CA DOJ will not approve the 3 digit.

I decided against in my 4R because its small and my states restrictions are not like CA's.

While on the topic, yes, they are easy to install BUT, that comes with a downside. If someone wants what is inside, they can rip out the console (most are plastic) in seconds. Luckily, the average bad guy will not hang out that long when breaking into vehicles.

The Gen 5’s was no problem as most Glocks fit. But this Gen 6 a S&W J-frame 2” just fits. This does have set of CT with green laser and still just fits with STICKY holster. Slightly more room if boot grips on it.

Hypothetically, I can imagine a Walther PPK .380 or a Sig Sauer .380 can serve as ample cover in many instances. A few mags loaded in Hornady Critical Defense rounds and proper target placement keep the family safe. Plus, the size makes for a highly concealable defense piece for hiking or walking in the park, or so I'm told.

i just keep my gun loose in the center, no safe. When I'm outdoors, it goes from the center to my chest.

Just got mine installed in the trail hunter and man that safe is tiny. My main carry gun will not fit in it. It does fit a 43x with no optics though. Still gotta carry a tethered lock box just in case now lol

someone said that a Glock 19 size pistol with kydex holster will fit under the rear seat when folded down. I will check for myself this evening. It is one of my carry weapons and there have been places like baseball or football (pro stadiums) that will not allow them in the stadium even with my credentials. I have seen some of the lock boxes with the cables being cut. The center console lockbox is too small for the G19 with optic and flashlight.
