I looked at mine this afternoon, and after 2 weeks and 4500 miles, I'm missing one screw on each end.
Glad you looked, 1 person said the whole thing fell off driving on the highway. That could have been a fatal accident.

Happened to me. Service manager accused me of removing screws. I said its a manufacturer defect but they didn't listen. I found this forum and screenshot all complaints and sent it to the dealership. I was traumatized having to ride around with tape on my 2025 less than a week old. They still didn't own anything but will replace it. Thanks to this forum.

Holy crap that tape..... took mine off, all the hardware was there but wicked easy to remove, at least a few weren't even finger tight

This happened to me today just one hour into a 12 hour road trip. One of the driver side clips popped off and one side dropped down rubbing pavement and tire, the dealership is saying road hazards not covered under warranty but there was no road hazard. I was getting passed biker gangs on the interstate and wondering what would happen if the whole thing came off and hurt someone.. would Toyota take responsibility..

They know about this issue but refuse to admit it or cover warranty claims at dealerships. 6g owners should write in to Toyota and voice complaints and concerns, it’s easy and only takes a few minutes. They need to own this dangerous warranty / recall issue before someone gets hurt or killed. https://support.toyota.com/s/questions-comments?language=en_US

From what I understand, they are holding shipments on a lot of new builds right now because of this issue. My ORP was supposed to arrive yesterday but is on hold until further notice. Hopefully they make good on the units they sold with the issue.

My SR5 had the flappy dam. Dealership removed it, photos and paperwork
Up the chain it went. At between .5mpg and .8 mpg difference, they owe me $

New to the thread / forum. My dam got loose after 5K miles and started hitting the tires. I took it to the dealership (different one that I bought from) and they informed me that it was clearly something I did so won't be covered by warranty. They charged $100 to remove it and quoted $800 for replacement / labor. I told them to hold off until I did more research. I am glad I did and found this thread as it's clearly a malfunction from the manufacturer and should be covered under warranty. I am reaching back out to the dealer I bought from with a link to this thread and hopefully we can find a solution. I guess this is the price to pay for being one of the first ones to have a brand spanking new model!

Best, K

$100 is outrageous to take it off, installed correctly it's a few bolts. Took mine off in like 3 min.

New 2025 4Runner - Air Dam falling down while driving on freeway. Air Dam catches the two front tires when turning and has caused damage to the piece. Also, when braking in reverse there is a loud squeal sound every time. Very loud.

Took it to local dealership and they said that brakes were not worn at all (pads or rotors) and that there was nothing they can do for the brake sound. Even if we paid out of our own pocket (which we shouldn’t have to on a new vehicle issue like this). Make that make sense…..

They can’t fix the issue.

They also said that the air dam breaking was due to us hitting something as they “could see damage”. I informed them that we did not and that it happened when we were going down the freeway. They were short and said they can replace it at our cost ($516).

Anyone have luck getting either of these addressed??

. I’m having the same issue with my front brakes dealer located issue and was told by Toyota not to touch the vehicle. They are working on a fix. They will send out a bulletin when the fix is developed.

Noise from the front end while driving today. Pulled over to discover that both ends of the front air dam had totally detached.
Pulled it off on the spot and it will not be going back on.

Same exact issue with ORP at 5k miles. Noise coming from the wheels on highway pulled over to see the air dam hanging off.

Took it into the dealership and they replaced it on warranty with no fuss. Took a fair amount of time for the replacement to come in.

All of that to join this forum and see all the cool kids just take them off. I've taken off the replacement and haven't looked back ?

Just following up. Got my response from the corporate claim person.. DENIED. Said no known issue, even after showing them all the internet complaints. and after speaking with local dealer service manager, he agreed with the tech that said it occurred from 'an external source'. So angry. So, now I plan on blowing up all their social media with proof.

Ours dropped a driver side retainer on the drive home from the dealership. The whole thing was promptly removed and tossed in the recycle bin. It looks so much better now.
