OTT tune results (from TRDJon)

Saw these elsewhere on the net and thought they'd be useful over here, as well. (I'm not sure if TRDJon has an account on this forum).

I'm about at the 500-mile mark with the OTT tune (non-hybrid, 2025 4Runner ORP), and figured I’d share a quick update for anyone considering.

Overall, I’m really happy with the tune so far. Throttle response is better, the turbo seems to kick in more often than before. It’s not aggressive or jerky, but I can feel it engaging a bit more frequently, especially during quick accelerations or on light uphill stretches. Not a bad thing, just something to note.

I’m not chasing MPGs (running E-rated AT4s), but it looking at each trip MPG its about 1 - 1.5 MPG higher than the overall MPG avg (4200 miles pre tune and 500 miles post tune it will take a while to change the overall). One thing I’ve noticed: if I get up to the speed limit quickly and then settle in, the live mileage calculator seems to stay higher compared to slowly rolling up to speed.

Had the dealership do the first oil change and post tune they didn’t say a word About it. No flags, no comments, no weird looks. I’m guessing they either didn’t notice the tune or just didn’t care. Either way, no issues at all.

I’ll report back after some heavier off-road use, and a 2000+ road trip, but for street and light trail duty so far, it’s totally worth it.

Great info! I had similar results with OTT on my 3rd Gen Taco, so it's nice to hear that their product is providing similar results for the newer trucks.

You need to look for a local tuner, I would wait until the break in period is over.

Do you recall if you got the Stage 1 Base or Enhanced tune? I should be able to get mine done at the end of the month.

I'm not sure which one they set me on, it was their first one installed and I don't remember them asking me. MPGs steady at 17.5, note I have a lot of drag with weight and tires so I can't really comment.
