Would you sell/trade in a 2018 TRD Pro + ~30k for a 2025 TRD Pro

First off, I know that this is primarily a financial decision that is dependent on ones income and the debt ratio they are willing to live with. That being said...

I have a 2018 TRD Pro (Cavalry Blue) w/ ~69k miles on it that I can trade/sell for ~39k. I'm interested in a 2025 TRD Pro in Mudbath or Underground.

A few months ago, there is no way I would make this change. But we recently bought a 2025 Rav4 Hybrid XSE for my college bound daughter and it is amazing! The updated tech and design really is much welcomed update. The RAV4 made my 2018 TRD Pro feel like a dinosaur from a bygone era.

I'm really afraid not to do it now and lose out on getting $39k for my 2018...

What would you do?

Personally, I would go for it, 1) you get good money of resale value from the trd pro you have 2) the odds are you will get the same good resale value from a newer one IF needs be. And if you enjoy the tech, it's night and day.

You can do it!! You’ll love the new Pro for sure. I absolutely love mine and it seems everyone who has one and has posted on this forum says the same. Get the most out of your old rig and get into the new one.

I mean... that 30k can upgrade your infotainment and a lot of things such as gas, suspension, etc...

We had a ā€˜24 Terra Pro and decided to sell it when the new 25 with the tech update was released. I’m glad we did. The driving dynamics are night and day. The ā€˜25 is a lot peppier. The tech is really up to date. If you get a chance to drive one, you’ll buy a new one. Your 2018 won’t gain any value.

First World Problem. ? I agree with JR1 if you drive a Pro you will likely buy it. We ended up with a Mudbath TRD Pro and are very happen. We also have the fortunate ability to keep our 24 Underground TRD ORP 4runner. Both outstanding vehicles. Your 2018 Pro is a Tank and will last forever. The 2025 Pro is literally like a life size RC car. Soooo fun to drive yet not completely proven like the 5th Gen. Great Problem to have my friend. The Mudbath is super unique and will likely only be on the 25 Pro model before the color moves on to the other trim levels.
Cheers ?

I wish we could have kept it but financially we can only have one.

Update: I did it. Well, kinda.

Decided I wanted to try something somewhat new/different...went with a 2025 Tundra 1794 w/ TRD package (Color: Smoked Mesquite).

Traded in the 2018 TRD PRO for $38,750 and got nearly $12k off the Tundra. I'm happy. The Tundra is nice. My off-roading days are mostly behind me and the Tundra suits me better (I think).

I still love how to the Mudbath Pro 4R looks, so maybe I'll be back again someday. We still own a 2008 V8 Limited 4R (227k miles) and my wife drives it on the daily.
